“Saw room- looked it over- asked for our money back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2011

My fiance and I were looking to save some money and we saw some good and bad reviews on here. We opted to try it for the night and save 60 bucks or so (compared to the Hampton Inn 2 doors down). The front desk clerk was very nice. Free parking. Free internet. I booked online and went up into the room. You could still hear traffic outside of the door when you closed the door. The bathroom was a yellow tint (instead of white). The sheets were a pink looking color and the comforter was gold/orange. We found a burn stain in the corner by the tv and we both questioned if we felt it was clean enough to take off our shoes and walk barefoot in the room. We asked for our moneyback and booked the hampton.

“Disgusting would be a compliment”

We had booked this "motel" a month prior and was shocking scared when we showed up. The room was a nightmare. The doors and walls had obviously had gotten wet (Katrina?) had swelled up because from the door knob to the floor, there was about 1/2 to 1 inch of space crack from door to door jam (could see outside to the parking lot)-- the floor was nasty with bacon ground into the floor. Mold was covered on the wall in the bathroom, who-knows-what covered the bathroom counter and mirror. I went downstairs and complained to the desk clerk (very , very nice gal), she was told by the manager to show us a different room. That room was just as nasty. We ended up getting our money back and stayed in a different hotel. I also called Days Inn an spoke with the company to let them know that this place was representing their organization. We just got our vacation pictures back and will be sending a picture to the BB Bureau of Gulfport. to show what a horrible place it was.

“Cheap, But not a value!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

To me value is getting 20% more than you expected for 30% less money than a bargain would be.
I've been bouncing along the Gulf coast states from FL to MS. After discovering (well I guess finding is a better word) some fantastic new beaches (Gulf Shores and Navarre, FL) and catching a ferry from Fort Gordan AL to Dauphin Island, I loss my energy around Moss Point, MS. Took a roadside coupon and paid $45 for a room at this Days Inn.

Character: Yes there was quite a few characters hanging outside of this place and that should have been the first sign. They did appear to be guests as well, but a little bit too rough looking for my taste.

Building: It looks a little bit dated and there isn't as much shrubbery outside to enhance it like some of the other properties nearby.

Room: The first room that I got, the keys did not work and there I was walking back and forth to the office with my luggage and goody bags (laptop, etc.). The clerk tried to get into the room and it wouldn't open for her either. So she upgraded me to a better room. No better doesn't mean fancy. It just means bigger and less unappealing. The furniture was basic basic and the carpet was of a color that you couldn't tell whether it was clean or not. I just tried to keep my shoes on until I hit the bed.

Bed: Well it got the LED laser light super exam, because once I feel compromised with a room, the bed must be thoroughly checked. I found nothing amiss, but there was a hint of smoke in the room although it was non smoking.

Summary: It is one of those types of hotels that as a guy you don't mind staying at yourself, but don't think to bring your wife or girlfriend to stay here. It definitely needs some upgrading and then I'll perceive value. Right now it is just perceived as cheap.

Location: Moss Point is about 20 miles from Biloxi and although I got the room for about $45, most of the hotels in the area were charging about $119 or more. I'm assuming because there are a lot of workers here who appear to be supporting the clean up efforts from the oil spill in the Gulf. I'm going to have to say, 'no' for my recommendation, but in reality it is not horrible, just not comfortable

“Clean bedding, cramped room with odd layout, bugs on bathroom floor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2009

This room was not the worst but not the best either. The layout of the room seemed cramped and odd. The bathroom door opened up into the bed area and in front of the fridge, making it awkward to manuever if the door was open. There were a couple of dead bugs on the bathroom floor but other than that the shower, sink and toilet were clean. This was a smoking room so there were a few burn holes in the bedspread. Bedding was clean with no bedbugs as some of the previous reviews stated. There were some smudges on the door jambs and switchplates that need cleaning. It was a bit noisy with the highway traffic so close by also. The front office was courteous and overall this was decent enough place. I would probably stay here again rather than take a chance on someplace that I hadn't tried yet.

“Dirty, never will stay there again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2008

Hotel seemed okay on the outside. Cheapest rates at that exit. It was raining, late and we were desperate. Roomed smelled funny, bathtub looked dirty, probably stained. We never took off our shoes, even in the shower. Hotel seemed like it was frequented by work crews. The only thing good about hotel was the free breakfast.
