“Excellent rooms and staff. A++++”

I checked into La Quinta Inn in Moss Point and the staff greeted my colleagues and I with a great big smile. When I entered my room, the first thing I noticed was how spacious the room was. Everything looked very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The next morning, the weather was really bad. We thought about staying one more night but some of my colleagues had to get back home so we ened up leaving. The breakfast was ok but the lady serving the breakfast was very pleasant and sweet. As I was checking out, the manager said "drive safely and please come back and see us again" which was very nice that he cared. I will always be staying here whenever I return to Moss Point. Again, A++++ to this hotel and its wonderful staff.

“Warning! They take your money when you want to leave”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

1st, I asked for a non-smoking room, they gave me a room filled with smoke, I called within the hour of checking in to ask to be put in another room. The desk clerk tells me there is no other rooms, so I called and acted like another potential customer to ask if there are non-smoking rooms and found out there was one, at that moment I was shocked to find out the desk clerk would lie to me like that, among other things I was worried about the hole cut out in the wall for their microwave where one can peer into the room from a utility room. After learning that there was another room, I asked for my money back and the desk clerk said I was there too long over one hour, it was 10:00 pm and I checked in at 9:00 am, however my first call to change rooms was well within the hour. So I was left with no choice but to change rooms. The next room on the 2nd floor had lots of mold, I went down stairs and wanted to check out and get my refund because of mold, I could not get my money back, the desk clerk gave me another room guess what, it had more mold in it, the desk clerk said, "It's not that bad" It didn't matter what I thought, because it was really terrible. Also, it sounded like there was a family living on the 2nd floor. My husband called the La Quenta Inn reservation line and Jeff 1041 called to talk to the desk clerk, the desk clerk told Jeff that he would give a refund, but never did. The night manager Sam just gave me the run around again not interested in my story, only interested refusing me a refund. The desk clerks Z and T also had no interest in making a refund or hearing my claim that I called initially within the hour, nor while Z was saying I first called at 10:00 pm after I checked in at 9:00 pm did the other desk clerk want to realize that was in the first hour, ON THE MINUTE, no body had any interest in listening to reason. This hotel is really bad, and needs to be shut down. Theft is what is happening there, with all the effort trying to get our money back, we had no luck, the only thing I can do is write this warning to others to stay clear of this hotel. Z kept making up a story that I was too late, it was completely false. i hope the Mississippi Health Department doesn't overlook their violations, they need to be shut down. Oh yeah! when you ask to speak to the Manager and they put you on the phone with S don't waste your time, he is there only to give you the run around in a taunting manner.

“Our room smelled like pet urine”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

When my wife and I first entered our room, the smell of pet urine was very noticeable. We tried spraying air freshner, thinking this would nutralize the smell. We left for dinner and the longer we were away the more we started to notice pet allergies flaring up for both of us. We skipped dinner and went back to the hotel to change rooms. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and changed our room.
We were inconveiniest the next morning, when we were told we had to leave the room we were in because it was booked for someone else. We packed and unpacked again.
When a hotel is pet friendly, they should designate certain rooms for pet owners. If no rooms are available that haven't had pets in them, they should tell the customer this up front.
We are La Quinta Gold Members, therefore we wouldn't write a bad review for a hotel chain we stay with every time we travel. We won't stay at this La Quinta again, unless they clean the rooms pets have been in with much more attention and replace the carpets that have been soiled by pets before they are booked out to the consumer.

“dirty and unfriendly owners”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

the owners are unfriendly and do not respect one's privacy. When the do not disturb sign is on the door the woman owner knocks anyway and if you don't answer she walks right in. The man owner did this twice to a friend of mine while they were staying in the hotel, once she was in the tub and the other she was asleep, the same time we were.
The workout room smells like mold plus I got locked in there for a few minutes before the door decided to open??
The breakfast area just past the food inspector how I don't know maybe she was in a hurry?? I was in there and she never even checked the juice machine, there is slime all over the spickets and on the inside. The bread and bagels must be day old because they are not soft and the biscuits come frozen and they are hard also. The boiled eggs come frozen and they taste terrible. The fruit is not fresh as it tastes horrible. The milk products are served in pitchers fresh I don't know, instead of individual cartons? The butter and cream cheese are not iced down? The pool area is filty with dirty towels and beer bottles. I report an outside light out that is in the parking lot a few days after we arrived and they still have not fixed it. andsmoky hallways. ONE MORE THING THE OWNERS LIVE HERE ON THE 2ND FLOOR ALONG WITH MANY OF THERE FAMILY MEMBERS??? THEY CAN COOK IN THERE ROOMS BUT GUEST CAN'T? I WONDER WHAT THE FIRE MARSHALL WOULD SAY ABOUT THAT?
NO we were not happy being here and our emplowers will get this review as well.

“A pleasant and quiet place to stay.”

My husband is presently working in MS and this hotel suits our needs. It is close to where he works and the most important assest for us is to bring our dogs. We do not travel without them and this is the main reason we chose this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and everyone is very pleasant and accomodating. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so.
