“This place should be shut down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2009

We selected this hotel for our family reunion--HUGE MISTAKE...
I prayed every night that I would wake up alive and so would everyone in my room. There was a homeless man asleep on the stairwell the 1st morning we woke up. There were no towels in our room nor were any available. There was other people's private part hairs in our tub and bed. There was also roaches in the bathroom, mold in the coffee pot and the rooms reaked of nasty smell. Lets just say half the people that came with us checked out as soon as we checked in. I still am unable to determine if the pool was green due to the floor color or if it was b/c it was so nasty. If you are a drug user- I highly recommend this hotel but if not- then I would keep your kids and family away from here. Someone should really look into this hotel and have them shut down. They also claim to have internet but it would never work for us.

“DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY”

This hotel is no longer a Ramada. It is the Laurel Hotel/Conference Center.
This place should be condemned! We arrived only to find that our room keys did not work. We waited for 2 hours while they "located" a room. We went through 3 rooms. The 3rd one opened but no a/c. My aunt checked in and found dirty sheets, cockroaches in the bathroom and mold in her coffee pot. NO housekeeping, maintenance on duty. There was only 1 person in the whole hotel. She was checking guests in. No towels. When asked she did not have a key to open housekeeping. A homeless man was sleeping in the stairwell the next morning. Housekeeping came by the next day and "rinsed" out the coffee pot. It still had a mold ring around it when my aunt got back. My parents encountered pubic hair in the bathroom. Manager never showed up to address issues. We checked out immediately! The pool had algae in it and the desk agent had her kids in the lobby while she worked.

“Good location, great free continental breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2004

We visited Laurel for a swim meet in June '04. The rooms were clean, but nothing special. The hotel restaurant puts on a great continental breakfast (no charge). We requested an iron/ironing board and when we returned from running a few errands, management had put them in our room--great service. We got the room for a government rate of $55/night. It was worth what we paid for it . . . no more.
