Passing through for the night. Rates were decent, used a coupon to stay here. Lady at the desk that checked me in was very polite and courteous. Rooms were very small and needed updating. TV did not work through out the night and there was no light bulb in one of the fixtures. Breakfast was ok, pretty much average. Parking lot not very bright and the employee in the morning checking me out was in a rush for some reason. Overall, its good for a one-nighter.

The reviews for this hotel made it sound like it would be clean, not sure what standards they have for clean but everything was icky and grimey. Hotel walls are very thin, we found that out the hard way. People next door played music and partied half the night. Called to let the front desk know around midnight but nothing was done. I thought hotels were to sleep but I guess if you're a frat guy they're to party all night. There was a security person in the parking lot who did nothing but talk on his cell phone. My son asked the front desk if the neighborhood was safe and they said it was, there had just been some cars broken into. Okay, if your property is at risk, then it is NOT safe. Have stayed at several Sleep Inns, they're usual clean and reasonable, but would never stay at this one again.

For a "Cheap Sleep", try out Sleep Inns. This was our second stay at a Sleep Inn this year. We were only staying for about 8 hours due to a grueling driving schedule so we didn't want to spend much. Not what you would expect for a 1.5-2 star room. The bed was elevated, the room was rather cute, the shower was huge. Sleep Inns all boast of new bedding and many pillows but I wondered if it was true for all hotels. It was so for this one. The bedspread was so-so quality but the sheets and pillows were nice and I slept soundly which is a bit unusual. If you find yourself forced spend the night in Jackson, MS, try out the Sleep Inn if on a budget. We have a Choice Privileges number so the price is about 15% cheaper than reg. internet rates. Also, the breakfast is strictly carbohydrates. Bagels, buns, and cereals. But don't fret, a McDonald's is across the street. You cannot spot this hotel from the interstate (I-20) so you will have to call or do some research online to find it. It is not far off the interstate at all though. At least that keeps the noise level down.

I don't understand how this motel is #2 in Jackson. Our car was burglarized in the parking lot. The desk clerk was very nice, but the manager initially refused to talk to us by phone, then was rude. The owner was unavailable. Choice Hotels (corporate parent) was careful to stick to form letters and canned responses. I know they are not liable, but only the desk clerk acted sympathetic. A break-in had occured in their parking lot the week before, but no one warned us to bring all our things in. We paid $450 in deductibles for the broken window and the stolen suitcases, making this quite an expensive room! Even without the security and customer service problems, this is a very typical, low-priced, near the interstate, no amenities motel, suitable for people who are passing through for the night, certainly nothing special.
