I stayed here in April 2007. Had the hotel manager check me in – check in was a breeze. The room that I was in was fairly modern, updated, and clean. Like most courtyards there is a (not complimentary) breakfast buffet in the morning. However, there are several places to eat within about a mile of this hotel including Garfields, a Mexican restaurant, Logans Steakhouse, Olive Garden, plus some fast food options. If you forget anything or need a snack, there is a Walgreens about block from this hotel along with a bookstore and several other shops. So the location is OK – It is about a block away from the interstate.
If I was the one assigning rating to the hotel, I would rate it three diamonds.
However, I would rate the hotel as a poor value for the money. At almost $150 night, I found it hard to ignore some of the minor inconveniences such as the loose toilet in my room that would “rock” when you sat on it, the pollen floating in the outdoor hot tub, and the maid -- banging on my door at 8am (I know I should have put out the do not disturb sign – but the complimentary newspaper still at the door is usually a good enough hint for most maids that someone might still be in there) and the maids inability to come back and clean the room after 12 noon (I really needed to get some work done at the hotel that morning!)
So overall, I would say that the hotel was fine, but overpriced and a poor value for the money. Next time in Jackson, I will try a different place to stay.
