First, let me say “Don’t be alarmed with the ‘bad’ reviews!” At the time those were written, the hotel was going through changes. What hotel isn’t these days?
I noticed that the last review was back in January, so I thought I’d give an update. I stayed at the Roberts Walthall during a major weekend event. Even though I live locally, I wanted to be somewhere close to the action. The hotel was within driving and walking distance of all of the activities scheduled (a plus). The lobby had an elegant charm and well maintained. I checked into a king room, which was newly renovated (similar to the one pictured in the hotel photos). I’ve stayed at this hotel before, and there is a HUGH different. The amenities in my room included a coffee maker, microwave, free wi-fi, and a flat plasma TV. The bed was comfy, and surprisingly, I had a good night’s sleep. The staff was very courteous and able to assist.
The only things I would note were problems: 1) the bathroom was small – not much room to move around; 2) only one elevator worked during this time – there are two; and 3) adjusting the temperature in the room took a little guess work – had to set it just right or it was either too hot or too cold.
But, overall, I would use this hotel again.
