This hotel is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. It is dirty and smelly, as well as unsecure. The door at the end of our hall to outside was a swinging glass door with no lock at all!! We got a "renovated" room so I guess it was supposed to be one of the best in the hotel. Some of the electrical outlets did not work. The toilet ran continuously and we had to go outside to make a phone call on our cell phones. The WORST thing was the awful odor all over the hotel--except for the lobby. In addition to all this, police stopped people right outside our window several times during the night. We found another hotel early the next morning, Don't stay here if you want a decent night's sleep.

During our 3 night stay we were very pleased with the entire hotel staff. It seemed like they were on a mission to make our stay a pleasant experience. We especially enjoyed the southern style home cooking in the restaurant. The pancakes we had for breakfast were the best we've ever had! Our room was immaculate. We had stayed here a few years ago and noticed a marked improvement this time.

Ok , I know what the other reviews say, but nothing has been said for awhile. I was booked there by my business. I was a little distressed when I saw the reviews, but what could I do. I was booked into a renovated room. It was WONDERFUL. I did not use the internet so I can not speak for that, but it was clean, neat and the colors where so nice. Yes, there are a few things that still need an upgrade such as the curtains, but they were servicable, and the beds were sooooo comfortable.. The elevators have not been renovated and are a little small, and still old, but the character of the hotel was awesome. Also, I was on the 7th floor and as with all older hotels you must let the water run for 5-10 minutes for the warm water but then it was excellent. The overall stay was GREAT!!! I have stayed in many hotels and my room was as good as any of the casino hotels on the coast of MS, The other parts of the hotel show the wear, but the hotel staff was pleasant, and the restaurant staff was super. The food was wonderful and extremely reasonable. I have stayed in other 4 star hotels and found hair in the tub, etc , but this room was extremely clean and I loved its character. A vote of Thanks to the Roberts group for redoing this treasure. Can't wait to stay there again!!!

This hotel was under construction during our stay, but that wasn't the worst of it. The hotel is in horrible shape, even with the construction going on. Our room was not cleaned, the airconditioning went out in the entire hotel--when we turned on the a/c, hot air came out--it was like that for at least 24 hours and there was absolutely no concern on the employees part. The bed was uncomfortable, the rooms are old and so is the furniture. Ugh, there is just too much nastiness about this hotel to list. Honestly, even though I was not paying for the hotel room, I think there should have been a discount offered for the inconvenience of the a/c going out and having to walk through construction when going back and forth to our room.
