My wife and I stayed here overnight and probably didn't do this B&B justice. You probably need at least three nights to get the full value of the place. Host Eric is absolutely fabulous in catering for your every needm and then more. The quality of the appointments and attention to detail are magnificent. The breakfast was all quality with lots of homemade goodies. The pirivate indoor pool was a bonus after an exhausting day's travel.

This is a really great B&B with a wonderful host. You start planning for your next trip by the time you get there!

Graceland is very nearby and other area attractions including Beale St. and the Tunica casinos are less than 30 minutes away, but you find yourself just wanting to stay at the B&B all day. So restful! Everything is very clean and the indooor pool/hot tub are a plus.

Two restaurants, Old Venice Pizza Co. & Mi Pueblo, are only a couple of minutes away in Hernando and are excellent.

Can't wait to return to Sassafras Inn.

I've been fortunate to stay in a number of great B&Bs in North America and Scotland but Sassafras beats them all. The outskirts of Hernando is a lovely, peaceful area and Sassafras is a lovely, peaceful home in this area.

The house is beautiful, with spacious rooms, engaging artwork and wonderful amenities - a huge TV, pool table and, best of all, an indoor swimming pool and hot tub. I was travelling with 4 other adults and we had the place to ourselves; it would be no exagerration to say we could have stayed at the Inn all day every day for our 3 days in the area!

Eric made a superb host with his attention to detail, helpfulness making recommendations and even taking the time to familiarise himself with the names and likes/dislikes of our group before we arrived. One of his recommendations, the Old Venice Pizza Company around 2 minutes from the Inn, had quite possibly the best pizza any of us had ever tasted! Brilliant staff too. Eric quite literally could not do enough for us. His breakfasts were also excellent.

I would highly recommend Sassafras to anyone staying in the Memphis area (only 20 minutes drive). I wish Eric every success and every blessing in the future.

We had previously stayed in the Skylight Room but this time booked the "Heart's Content" Cottage. It was SO great!

From the decor to the snacks, everything is first-class. And Eric makes an inobtrusive host, chatting if you're so inclined or leaving you alone (which is most of the time).

Easy access to the indoor swimming pool is a plus.

We'll be back.

My fiance and I were looking for a relaxing gettaway, and we got exactly that. We stayed 2 nights at the Sassafras Inn. Eric, the owner, was very personable from the initial call to set up the reservation until the day we left. When we got there on Friday night, I think the B&B was full, but Eric made us feel like we were the only ones on the property. We arrived at about 9 pm, and he met us outside and gave us a tour. It was so beautiful at night, I couldn't wait to see what the daylight would reveal.
We stayed in the cottage. Everything was nice and clean (and my fiance claims that I am one of the pickiest persons alive). It was so peaceful. The cottage has 2 huge windows with dark vertical blinds that block out all the daylight if you want to sleep in. I had to have the blinds open though because I could not trade in the lavish landscaping for darkness.
Eric suggested a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Hernando, and to my surprise, even that was great. I hate I can't remember the name of the restaurant because there were about 2 other Mexican restaurants in the vicinity. If you stay here, trust Eric's suggestions.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be (and the city life of Memphis is just a few minutes away)!
