My fiance and I were looking for a relaxing gettaway, and we got exactly that. We stayed 2 nights at the Sassafras Inn. Eric, the owner, was very personable from the initial call to set up the reservation until the day we left. When we got there on Friday night, I think the B&B was full, but Eric made us feel like we were the only ones on the property. We arrived at about 9 pm, and he met us outside and gave us a tour. It was so beautiful at night, I couldn't wait to see what the daylight would reveal.
We stayed in the cottage. Everything was nice and clean (and my fiance claims that I am one of the pickiest persons alive). It was so peaceful. The cottage has 2 huge windows with dark vertical blinds that block out all the daylight if you want to sleep in. I had to have the blinds open though because I could not trade in the lavish landscaping for darkness.
Eric suggested a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Hernando, and to my surprise, even that was great. I hate I can't remember the name of the restaurant because there were about 2 other Mexican restaurants in the vicinity. If you stay here, trust Eric's suggestions.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be (and the city life of Memphis is just a few minutes away)!
