The hotel we were to stay at had overbooked and messed up our reservations, so they put us up at the Days Inn, Hattiesburg MS. We awoke the next morning to bugs crawling where my husband had just gotten out of the bed. Upon further inspection under they sheets there were MANY BED BUGS. I called the managment only to find out they knew about the bugs and did not feel it was a problem because "we spray occasionally". He also claimed that since we were originally another hotels guests it was not his problem. He did not care if we called the health dept to notify them because "They can't do anything to me about it". DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to take home bugs.
Corporate offices response was that this is a franchised hotel that is privately owned and that they would pass the info on to the hotel.

According to the clerk at the front desk, this motel was opened about a year ago, as of this writing. In our cross country trip, from California to Florida, it was the worst motel we encountered.

The front desk clerk set the tone for our visit - she was busy with a personal call on her cellphone.

The carpeting is stained and the walls scuffed in the halls and rooms.

Our room lacked a shear curtain (it was hanging by a few hooks in our daughter's).

The shower was not cleaned, nor was the coffee pot. We had to go back to the front desk for coffee - ours had not been restocked.

The high speed internet did not work.

The bedside lamp had no light bulb in it - another trip down to the front desk.

No extra pillows were available.

All of this for $97 per room, per night (no discounts for military, nor AAA).

Avoid Hattiesburg if you can, but if you cannot, you must avoid staying at the Day's Inn.

I stayed in this hotel in 2002, so this is obviously a dated review. I checked into the Days Inn around midnight and had to switch rooms 4 TIMES. Each room I was given was under major renovation (no carpet, no ceiling tiles, etc). One room they gave me had no less than 20 large potted plants scattered throughout the room. It would have been funny if it wasn't so late.

Also, there was some type of party going on near the hotel with loud music and many, many unsavory characters driving through the parking lot throughout the night.

This is by far the most disguisting, wretched, terrible, piece of youknowwhat hotel I have ever stayed in.

If Days Inn calls you and offers to PAY YOU $1,000 per night to stay in this hotel, don't do it. Your safety is more important than any offer you could ever get.

The Days Inn of Hattiesburg is the worst hotel i've ever stayed in. It is flanked by two night clubs...one on either side...so there is a tendency for loud noise on the weekends.

The paint is peeling (especially in the bathrooms). The beds are very uncomfortable. There were stains on the walls and on the furniture.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone...even college just fans looking for a hot shower and a warm bed on football saturdays.

Disgusting.
