Im in hotel managements and 1 mins on the phone with the front desk and i was informed to book online... I called to save them some money they would loose in commission if i booked online, the guy who worked the desk was slow, hard to understand, and tryed to offer me a discount, this didnt work, so i asked for the manager. WOW this lady is a real winner, she had not the smallest idea what i was talking about IM IN HOTEL MANAGMENT! I KNOW YOU LOOSE COMMISSION WITH ONLINE TRAVEL SITES! I asked for a employee rate, she told me to call a 1800 number. I didnt feel like waiting on hold for 30 mins for something they could do in 5 mins, she was too lazy to even make a reservation for me... The hotel is clearly ran by family members and owned by someone over seas. I would never have anyone that incompetent managing my hotel.
Do yourself a favor, just call and talk to the people and you will get a good idea how the hotel is ran, Clerk is lazy and didnt know what he was doing, Manager was rude, lazy, had the worst attitude, and wanted to cut corners...
Why would you rather me book online and get 41 dollars after commission insted of me going direct and paying 50? YOU GET 9 DOLLARS MORE!
Im staying at la quinta... keep my 50 dollars and use it to train your staff english and maybe some people skills
