“Nursing Home Makeover!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011 via mobile

This is a nursing home turned into a motel.....
Walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors clearing their throats....the ones that checked in after midnight.
The lights in the hallway stay on all night and there are two windows. We had to hang the bedspread over the one right next to the bed and the room was still too light.
There are ramps everywhere and the rooms are all equipped for the handicapped.
Wasn't what I expected and not as advertised. Was built to resemble a older home.
It is what it was.....a nursing home turned into a motel!

“How many Hotel's have peacocks on the grounds?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2011

The location of this Hotel was perfect for exploring the Gulfport area. It was tucked away from the bustling of the beach but only minutes from the beach. The rooms were very clean and the staff was wonderful. Every morning there is complementary full breakfast buffet with views of the pond. The front desk has plenty of brochures on the activities in the area. One I would not miss is the ferry ride out to Ship Island, truly a beautiful place. And the peacocks were beautiful also, a treat for children and adults.

“Quiet and Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2010

The hotel is very much like a bed and breakfast inn. Not your usual hotel. The rooms were clean. Grounds and lake were nice. Enjoyed watching the ducks and peacocks. It is just the I-10 interchange and Hwy 49 so is very convenient but it's tucked into a residential area so it is very quiet and off the beaten path. The hotel staff members were friendly and accomodating. The buffet breakfast, southern-style, is excellent and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the lake while we dined. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Gulf Coast.

“Outstanding!! Don't believe the negative reviews”

My sister , Mother must admit were a little reserved about the reviews. When we arrived to this Bed & breakfast place we were shocked it was located in residential neighborhoods. But then going inside we felt we were at home. We were treated with Southern Hospitality by the staff. And the Peacocks were putting on a show during the breakfast in the Veranda Room. And the breakfast was outstanding. The beds were comfortable. TV cable was a little confusing to get channel but overall we loved it. Especially the cookies, apples but kept missing the rum punch. But I agree the carpets could be replaced and outside tidy up and never did find the swans & Ducks???? Thanks staff for being so nice!

“quiet and comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

We booked several rooms in March for a June family reunion.

We asked for a good location and all together. We were given great location across from the pond. We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The rooms could use updating especially the carpet and bathrooms.

It was a fun property for our three grandchildren. Tjey enjoyed the peacocks and turles in the pond. A change from Disney World which they had just visited. The children would have prefered a bathtub ; all our rooms had only handicapped shower stalls and small vanities and a toilet.

We had problems at the last moment with the room choices. Someone changed our room and we were put away from our other family members. Alos the price we had agreed on was not what we were charged. The bill was asked to be paid as we checked in and when I realized my husband had overpaid ; I requested money back and got it. But it should not have happened just as the room change should not have happened.

It is a quiet location and about 45 minutes from the beach and its attracations.

We hope they update the rooms and the cleanliness and we will return.
