My husband and I stayed at the Alluvian on New Year's Day 2011, and not surprisingly for a small Mississippi town, everything was closed. No restaurants, no shopping, no tours, no spa, no nothing.. Basically, the only thing open was the hotel lobby. The hotel restaurant wasn't even open. Needless to say, our romantic weekend getaway ended up being a romantic dinner at Shoney's. I see that another couple stay NYD 2012, so maybe the hotel spa and restaurant decided to remain open this year. The rooms were nice, bathroom was huge, and each floor was decorated a lithe differently. There is also a nice lounge where you can read, play games, and relax. Overall, we loved this boutique hotel and will definitely be back. The MS Delta is a special place.

My husband and I stayed at the alluvian to end our tour of the Delta. We spent our other nights in less expensive unique accommodations. We checked in on January 1 and the hotel only had 7 rooms booked. We got a king corner room - 308. The room was huge and views were excellent. Bathroom was nice but I wish the big tub had jets. No turndown service as promised which was disappointing. I got a massage at the spa and the spa was definitely nicer than I expected. My husband used the gym-each piece of equipment had a tv and headphones were provided. The bed was heaven and we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast buffet which included eggs, grits, meats, potatos, fruit, and bread/pastries.

From the moment you walk in the door, you will be impressed with the elegance and charm of this small hotel. You will find the details and features that you wouldl expect at a larger hotel in a metropolitan area, but you will also find the attention to detail and uniqueness that you would find at a small inn. The hotel is perfectly located across the street from the Viking Cooking School and down the street from an assortment of delightful stores. It is perfect for both a family trip or a romantic getaway.

We love it here! The perfect trip is staying at the Alluvian, going to the spa, eating at Giardina's and The Crystal Grill and shopping at The Mississippi Store and Turn Row Books! The hotel is very clean and the staff makes sure to see to your every need. The rooms are very large as are the bathrooms. We love going to the spa here during our stay. This is an annual girls trip the last three years and we will keep coming back!
