Made reservations 2 weeks in advance for $69. for a Friday night, another couple just walked in off of the street, while we were there, without reservations and paid $59. for the same room. The manager would not lower the price for us even when this was pointed out to him . We spoke with the owner the next morning who gave us the same lame excuse that rooms cost different prices at different times. Well, what's the point of booking ahead, if you can get a better price just walking in the door! He must think that he is an airline!!!
The first room had a broken window. The room we stayed in was very tired and still had coffee in the pot from the previous occupant. In addition, when I pulled the covers down, the sheets were spotted and there was no blanket on the bed. I called down to request new sheets and he said he was by himself and would change them later. In addition, the couch had tears in it and the TV screen was half black so that you could only watch the top portion of it. The toilet seat had bumps all over it like it had been spray painted over existing blisters on the wooden surface. It wasn't until later that we realized that we were right near a railroad track and heard train whistles periodically during the night.
The supposed "Continental Breakfast" was a joke! The kitchen area wasn't clean. The waste baskets looked as if they had never been washed. They had one big tub of margarine and peanut butter that everyone was suppose to use. The only thing that was in it's original container was the milk and juice and they were in jugs in a refrigerator, which was there for you to help yourself. There were only 3 tables in the very small area to accommodate guests in 30 rooms. I saw the manager leave the desk, go get some frozen waffles and place them with his hands inside a plastic container. I did not see him wash his hands at all. Gross!!! All I had was juice and the first styrofoam cup I picked up was dirty inside.
If you like management that cheats customers and is unfair in pricing, soiled linens, tired and worn furniture, lumpy toilet seats, someone elses leftover coffee in your room, noisy trains, and unsanitary breakfast conditions, this is the place for you all for a premium fee of $10 extra than anyone else who walks in off of the street, you have found your home away from home.
The sad part is that this place was recommended by the tourist bureau! What a joke. Beware---stay anyplace else, but here!
