The main reason for staying at Extended Stay in Woodbury was because of its kitchen feature-- which I assume is one of the main reasons why anyone stays there and because of its close proximity to St. Paul.

We got a 2 double bed, non-smoking room. Checking in was a breeze. The size was pretty decent. When we first entered, though, we noticed that there was a smell to the room-- not of smoke, but it was more of a dusty smell. Luckily we had some Febreze in the car so that helped wonders. I've read reviews so I knew what to expect-- no frills, bring your own shampoo, etc. The kitchen fits one person comfortably, 2 people ok, but definitely not 3 (we had four people in the room). Dusty smell and small kitchen aside, the only thing that frustrated me about our stay was the stovetop not working so well. We really needed to use the stovetop-- that was our number one reason for staying there (besides a place to sleep of course)-- to boil chicken. We needed water to come to a rolling boil but it never did--- it only simmered! This was completely frustrating as it took me 4 hrs to cook 4 chickens. This all happened after office hours so I didn't even try calling the office. This stovetop fiasco really bummed me out and made me not want to consider extended stay anymore but today, after completing an honest survey, I received a call from someone at Extended Stay apologizing about the situation and attempting to make it right the next time I decide, if I do, to stay at their hotel again. I will be holding him to his promise!

**Seems the problem with the stovetop was that it was not properly plugged in all the way. So-- make sure your stovetops are properly plugged in after checking in!

We booked a room for a night to be closer to the city since we're from rural Wisconsin and needed a place to stay for an event in the city. The place have probably seen better days. Just about everything was outdated. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head for the evening, you can probably find a better deal elsewhere.

I can't speak for the other rooms but the one we had was pretty awful. A few stuff that went awry for us: a) when my sister tried to take a bath, the force of the water pulled out from the drain some brown gunk which turned out to be feces. b) when attempting to take a shower, the force of the water pushed the faucet completely off the wall resulting in the water spraying horizontally. We had originally thought about extending our stay but because of the above issues, we checked out the next day.

What I look for in hotel for a work assignment is internet service, cable TV, desk and kitchen. For 1+ week, work trips, it's the only place for me. After one+ weeks on the road, dining out and complentary hotel breakfast's begin to get old. In order to eat healthy, I need to have my own kitchen, complete with a full size refrigerator. It's a great, clean hotel to focus on getting work completed with litlle or distractions. With no pool, spa or work out room, I don't reccommend ExtendedStay's for vacation'ers.

This facility is located right off the highway, which makes it convenient. It's also next to a small mall where there's an Outback and an Italian restaurant -- also convenient. But this is a barebones business traveler hotel. They give you a suite with two desks, a dining area, a small, well-equipped kitchen and a queen bed.

The bed's mattress had seen better days. The hotel offers few amenities beyond a laundry. We've recently stayed at a Candlewood Suites -- same concept, different provider -- and found that the beds at Candlewood are a whole lot nicer and the experience there is a lot better. For about the same money, Candlewood is a much better value.
