There are several annoying things re: this company, itself, plus their check-in process is the pits & the rooms were beyond belief. Unless you're poorer than poor, do NOT stay here. I'll list my observations & first-hand experience.
1. My first mistake was booking this room online. I always call the hotel directly but another member of our family (several members of our family had booked rooms for a funeral nearby) had already checked in & didn't seem to have any major problems so I went ahead. No where on their Web pages is any reference at all to expedia.com. I have never had any luck using them & if I had known this is the 'booking' company I would have run, not walked, to the nearest delete button. My confirmation page, which came 2 days later - we were already on the road so didn't see it - had a different confimation number than the one I was first given. My billing amount was different from my 'receipt'. I could go on & on re: the money part.
2. Checking in: It was almost as tho they didn't have my reservation. They had photos of 3 different 'size' rooms, all of which seemed to cost the same?. Apparantly there are actually 4 different kinds of rooms - see below.
3. I had booked a king with mic & frig. There was a king bed alright but it had 2 different mattresses underneath. Never mind the dust, mold & cover off of the air conditioning unit.
4. I went back up to the office to complain about no frig or mic. She said she couldn't do anything about anything as she just checked people in and out (which took awhile cuz she was using her computer & couldn't seem to get it to work). She gave me a phone no. Of course that person referred me to yet another phone number (which is when I found out I was really dealing with expedia.com & not red roof inn) who referred me to yet another phone number which, of course, didn't work.
5. We decided to stay as several of our family members were also staying at the same place - remember, i've been on the road for 2-3/4 days plus their for a funeral). Big mistake. Neither my brother nor myself had wash cloths in the room. No coffee pot (although I wouldn't have used it anyway). They had a coffee pot with the sugar/creamer pkg having been already opened. When I was getting ready for the funeral the next day, i discovered there was no hair dryer either. (here's the only plus - they delivered one to the room quickly).
6. Apparantly they house down-&-out or homeless people as there seemed to be a big family (or she was babysitting several children of all ages) at the end unit. That afternoon there was a lady who appeared to have been removed from the hotel (looked like she had been living there as all of her belongings (boxes & bags) were there with her as she sat on the sidewalk. Good for them but they should have let us know.
7. I wasn't expecting the 'taj mahal' as the price is low, but not that low! I did expect clean & stocked & what I was paying for.
8. Who ever heard of a clerk who had no power at all????
