I will be traveling to Winona for a church event and this is a very BUSY time for all the hotels in Winona, so busy in fact that I did not know most hotels were sold out. Let me tell you about the integrity of this hotel, especially the manager Dana, but let me start at the beginning.
The original hotel I wanted to stay at was already 7+ sold out, so I called upon my friend who I met while working at Sony with the Holiday Inn. She told me the hotel next door was owned by the same people and that they still had room. I got a room quote of $118 dollars per night. So, immediately, I called the Plaza Suites to book it.
I was told to ask for Hana and for some reason the rate was not the same. Hana handled me patiently and kindly and said that she would make a note on my reservation to check about the rate.
Today I spoke to the manager, Dana, and she as a great customer service experience and 'detective' noted that I was quoted the 'average price not the actual price'. But because of the confusion I had to go through, she adjusted the rate to what I had previously believed. Not only that, but she gave me the AAA rate even though that rate had been sold out.
Now this kind of customer experience is rare. They honored two rates that were not available during one of the busiest times in their hotel and city as a whole.
But because they cared about what happened and saw the honest confusion caused, they honored an incredible rate and that wins my heartfelt thanks and lifelong loyalty. I am a friend of Plaza Suites and the affiliated Holiday Inn for life.
Thank you to Christine, Hana and Dana!
God bless them and your properties!
I will try to update my review after my stay too so the readers of this can learn about the hotel some more. I have no doubt it will be exemplary!
