My stay here actually goes back to Spring 2005.
Sorry John Hall, times change, and not accepting Credit Cards until you sold it was not acceptable.
Yet, you accepted Check, which these days is more then just plan risky.
Does it cost, to accept Credit Cards, Absolutely, so be it. even your fast food has no problem.

As fair as service, I am disappointment that their was no one around.
yet, the Rooms were clean.

I still think it was over priced. yet. it is the going price.

Yet, Hall Complain about the New Bridge, yet, it had to be build. like I said times change.
Oh yes, Thank Goodness. the Hotel went to Non Smoking.
Sorry Hall, your Hotel stunk when you were Smoking in the first Room

Sorry Smokers. this is a Historical Hotel build like 150 years.
The last thing I need is to have a Gross Smoker burn it down. Careless Smoking in Bed.

We stayed here last weekend. Never again. Poor service, treated rudely by staff (front desk -and- waitstaff). Uncomfortable beds.

Paper-thin walls means you can hear every other room's activity. Tiniest bathroom ever. Wallpaper is falling off, probably from decades of water damage. Avoid if you have mold allergies.

We did not stay at the hotel but brought a large group from our church for lunch while on a day outing. These were senior citizens. The day of the outing 3 members were ill and did not come but had already paid. After a lovely lunch, I asked that the 3 dinners that we paid for be boxed so we could take them back to our missing members. We were curtly told that policy is we guarantee a number and pay for that number but they will not provide the lunches we paid for if the people are not there filling the seats. This is a bad policy!

The Anderson House is such a treat...do yourself a favor and take a detour and stay here. The hotel is charming with wonderful period furnishings including important things like cloth dolls and photos. The bathrooms in the lower-priced rooms aren't going to be big marble spreads so if that's important to you, book up. And if you aren't allergic to cats, make sure you get a cat with your room. The Anderson House cats are enough to turn anyone into a cat person. I would be a far more productive business traveler if I could have a cat with my room at much more "upscale" places.
