We recently stayed a night here, and found the rooms to be clean. The lobby, also, was clean, but some of the other common areas, especially the vending/ice machine area on the ground floor, and the vending area at the top of the stairs, could have done with a good mopping. The continental breakfast was adequate, although the English muffins were a bit stale and there was a real lack of variety in the items offered.

We're in the process of moving to Sleepy Eye, and Inn of Seven Gables has been a great, homey place to stay. The owners have been friendly and accommodating, and have gone out of their way to make things easy for us.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, whether for an extended stay or a short one.

We were there for three weeks, and had a great stay! Warm and friendly staff the kind of folks you would want as your neighbors! Rooms were very nice! Would go back in a minute! In this age of chain motels it's sort of refreshing to stay at a family run business!
Don't be afraid to stop in for a night or two! Great Place, Great People,Great Town!

While we were fortunate to get a room during the recent blizzard, the Inn was less than desirable. Beyond the outdated furnishings, carpeting, and decor, the room was cold and dirty. The chair backs were loose and the padding in the chairs was long gone, and the stains on the chairs were disgusting. The television on/off button was broken and there was only one remote for two TVs. The heater blew cold air all night, and we wrapped up in the comforters, which we hoped were clean. We felt fortunate that there was hot water in the shower, but the shampoo/conditioner/gel dispensers didn't work very well leading to frustration on many levels. The parking lot was a field of ice. Keep driving. It's not worth the price.
