Stayed here one night on a business trip. This Hampton Inn was close to my business meeting. It has been converted from an older hotel (Holiday Inn maybe) and it in pretty good shape. The rooms have been updated and were in decent shape. Only issue I had was the low ceiling in the bathroom. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel but I didn't try it. My room faced the interstate and I did hear the traffic...not too bad unless you are a very light sleeper. Overall, nothing special about this Hampton Inn.

This Hampton Inn was one of the best I have stayed in and I stay at Hamptons about 80% of my trips (like 40/yr).
Staff 5 stars. Room 5 stars. Adjoining restaurant 5 stars.

Nice job management!

We found this Hampton quite by accident and boy are my husband and I happy we found this gem!! We started out in one motel (Motel 6) and due to the horrible 2 hours of trying to get a clean and safe room, we called around and found Hampton Inn. Sherry, our front desk person was wonderful to us-at 2:30 in the morning!! She had a room ready for us and even discounted the room due to the time we came in. The room was on the 2nd floor (smoking rooms are in this hotel) so we had to climb some stairs but she gave us a room next to the stairwell which we loved. Very quiet. Nice bathrooms, wonderful beds and pillows I would fight for any day!!! The staff was great. We found out the Green Mill (which is attached) served room service so we ordered a late supper and when the staff found out I was sick with a cold, they sent up hot tea complimentary with a get well card!! Now that is going out of the way to make a customer feel better!! Right off of 694 and Lexington, it is a great spot to get to both St. Paul and Minneapolis. My husband and I have decided this will be the only hotel we will ever stay in when we come back to the St. Paul area.

The Hampton Inn has a lot of nice ammenities in the guest rooms and the selection at breakfast is ample. However, I just could not get over the feeling that this hotel is a recent conversion. Perhaps it was because there was a construction crew working in the dining area.
The rooms are very nice, big showers, and soft beds. The hotel is only 2 stories. However, I stayed on the 2nd floor and there were no elevators! I am in good health and could handle lugging my suitcase up the stairs, but that type of thing seems like it should be left to lower hotels than a Hampton. Aside from the elevator issue, it was a good experience. I hope they consider adding one.
