“Usual Holiday inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Room was nice and usual holiday inn quality. Room was clean and up to acceptable standards. Updated with flat screen tv as well. comfy bed etc etc

Hotel itself is a little dated and nothing walking distance around the hotel for food. It has a indoor pool.

Breakfast was a little lackluster as they made it seem like they had a buffet but it was just continental with added hot potato wedges and sausage patties.

Not a bad choice if you just need a room. Bad choice if you would like a more up to date hotel, big breakfast buffet, and some restaurants in the area

“Workout enthusiasts avoid this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on business. The service is average at best and the rooms are a bit dated compared to other Holiday Inn properties. The biggest disappointment is the fitness center. There are 2 treadmills, both several years old. One treadmill had an "Out of order" sign on it and the other one didn't have a sign, but it didn't work either. While there was a mat for core training, they don't have any exercise balls or apparatus for abdominal work.

When I called about the treadmill not working, the front desk sent down the hotel maintenance technician who did his best to repair the unit to no avail.

I'm very surprised that 3M would allow the company name to be attached to this hotel as it clearly doesn't follow the innovation theme.

I'll stay in Woodbury the next time I'm in town.

“Typical Holiday Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

This seemed like a typical Holiday Inn. Th ehotel as eight floors and we stayed on the fourth floor. The beds were fine but provided lots of pillows. Th ehotel is located just of the interstate is is very conveniently located. We had no problem getting around the metro area from this location.

The room had a TV with a picturer tube that had a very poor quality picture but was connnected to Direct TV so there were many channel choices. The bathroom had two problems, very poor shower pressure and a sink faucet that was poorly designed inthat the water spout was just over the rim of the sink. Very hard to get to the water that came out without filling up the sink.

Room Tip: Used Hotwire to book this room

“Thanks for the free shuttle”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We stayed here because we were going to the Katy Perry concert at the Xcel Arena and this hotel offers a free shuttle.

There was plenty of parking when we arrived. Both desk attendents were both very nice. They explained the shuttle to me and suggested the time we should leave and have plenty of time to get there.

The double queen room was fine, except the beds are more like doubles I would say. Nothing fancy, nothing bad. The beds were very comfy. The pool is fun for the kids and it has an attached, big arcade with pool table as well.

I suggest that another bus be added on concert nights as we waited a long time downtown for our ride back to the hotel.

No free breakfast, which really stinks for me because I was traveling alone with four kids.

Quick check in and out.

“Just Awful - Bare Bones, Out-Dated Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

To start, this hotel was described to us as being close to downtown - it is anything but for travelers with no mode of transportation. The hotel offered to take us downtown via shuttle which was nice - but then left us downtown stranded, at night, in a thunderstorm. Despite numerous calls to the hotel (they said to simply call for pick-up!) it took them over an hour to come and get us - and we even called in advance.
Also, beware of the elevators! They apparently like to "sleep" according to the maintenance man. In truth, it seems that they barely function. With this size of a hotel, 3 would seem to barely suffice - yet, only 1 elevator ever seemed to actually work and even then it was slow....! Lines would be waiting for it. Took the stairs often - at least we got a workout! Vending machines were routinely out of drinks, and the restaurant closes at 9:30 for breakfast - we didn't know that, and were pretty hungry - there is NOTHING around this hotel either, except for highway. You can't just pop out and grab something, again, unless you have a car. And, unlike other Holiday Inns that I have stayed in, they didn't even have such niceties as a basket of apples at the desk that you could grab in a pinch. I am telling you, it's the little things....
Anyway, the internet was also slow, slow, slow, and when it would storm, the TV wouldn't even work. I have never experienced that, and I travel quite a bit.

Positives? The rooms were clean and the beds were fairly comfortable.

Nonetheless, I would never, ever, stay at this hotel again.
