“Great Historic Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

The St. Paul Hotel is a wonderful hotel with over 100 years of history at its downtown St. Paul location. Some of the rooms are a bit small, but they are furnished with beautiful motifs, are very quiet and have nice downtown views. What really sets the St. Paul Hotel apart is great service and a feeling of complete elegance. It has an ideal location and you can walk to many wonderful restaurnants, bars and shops.

“Great hotel - a must stay in St. Paul!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This is a grand old hotel and maintained in a nice period style. The staff are very professional and courteous. Very comfortable rooms and well appointed. The Queen size rooms are quite small, so try to make sure you get a King size room. The lobby bar is functional but a bit cramped. The M Street cafe is great for breakfast and is very comfortable for a business meeting. Well located and positioned for both pleasure and business.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the city square which is lit up well in the evenings. King rooms are gen...

“BEAUTIFUL & EXCELLENT LOCATION”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Stayed here for the first time to go to a concert at The Xcel Energy Center. The hotel was GORGEOUS! Rooms were very clean and staff was superb! The lobby bar was excellent for cocktails and yummy appetizers! The walk ways to the Xcel Energy Center were perfect! No walking outside!! The Sunday Brunch at M Street Restaurant, in the hotel, was Fab!! Will definitely stay again!!

“JAN 2012 STAY”

The hotel is fine, food great, but was not handicap accessible except from the street and in the MN winter, that's not somewhere you want to take a handicapped person. The person taking my reservation did not mention this when I booked our room. I did not get much sleep being there was a service door for employees on our level that slammed shut, and the employees would talk to each other in passing in the middle of the night. We could not reach the skyway or outside cafe's or coffee shops being the access was up 3 flights of stairs, no ramp available. The employees were terrific, except for one person at checkout who made an unnecessary comment when we pointed out an error on our bill. The food in the room and room service is quite expensive.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't sleep near a service door or elevator, and do not bring anyone handicapped t...

“Fancy but not Really Luxurious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

The St. Paul Hotel is an historic hotel in the heart of downtown St. Paul. The lobby is very nice and the rooms aren't bad, although they are not the hugest (which is pretty standard of older hotels).

On the one hand, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the beds are very comfortable. But while the hotel is certainly fancy, I wouldn't exactly describe it as luxurious. The bathrooms, for example, are really just a small step up from what you might find in a nice motel, with cheap plastic toilet seats and a motel-style bathtub.

Also, as some others have written, the walls are pretty thin and if you have the misfortune of sleeping near the elevators, you will hear them all night.

Overall, though, very nice and certainly worth the money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators
