The hotel is very conveniently located to restaurans, walking trails, and the Interstate for getting around Minneapolis. We usually travel with our two small dogs and just across the Interstate is a beautiful area for walking - trails complete with a creek and trees. Paved paths - felt very safe walking in the early morning and in the evening.

I booked in here because it was the nearest to the airport and railway station that was available. Plenty of stores and fast food outlets in the vicinity so no complaints there. The staff on the reception desk were all friendly and tried to be helpful; however, the room I was in had its TV wall socket hanging loose and there was a squashed fly stuck to the wall near the ceiling - the room clearly hadn't been checked recently. I filled out a comments form, left it outside my room after my first night there but on returning later that day it was still there and someone - the cleaner? - had inserted a 'do not disturb' sign in the lock and the room was uncleaned. After reporting this to the reception desk the wall socket was still loose and the fly remained undisturbed when I left after three nights there.
Overall, the motel looked to be in need of renovating in places. Other than the two problems mentioned above, the room I occupied was okay and the service by the reception staff was also good.

Reading some reviews made us wonder but talked to a friend who stayed before and they said not sure why the reviews might have been written as they are. We stayed 3 nights in a suite for a dog show and can honestly say we had to agree with our friends, some of the other reviews are just plain wrong,
It is in the top two or three stays (for value) we have ever had.
Starting with the registrattion and reminder the day before, the greeting at the front desk, and the warm atmosphere exuded by the staff it just made us feel welcome. While there we had people over to see our suite and stay to eat at our dining room table in front of the fireplace ... they were in awe!
Staff is always there to help //// first night we needed more pillows and bedding. The front counter manager ran up (twice) rather than make us wait for anyone to help him. Every day at breakfast they RAN to get more of anything they thought you might need.
The hotel is QUIET even though its near I94 which means its convenient .... shopping mall within 2-3 minurtes. And good restaurnats -- one recommnded by the front desk we hit twice (great Thai food) is less than 4 minutes walk. And pizza (Red Savoy) so good we convonced friends after seeing ours to order from there the next night is just 3-4 blocks away--- and they had sauerktraut on their pizza too.
Some people on Trip Advisor commented about the the neighbourhood ... get over it.
Its an older residential area on one side but that is a well kept area.
And its less than 10 minutes to the very centre of Saint Paiul.
Not sure why Trip Advisor says it closed for renovations as it is ceratinly open.

Hotel was fine for staying a couple nights. Room was clean but heating did not work well. The lobby computer for customers had a virus on it. I brought it up and the hotel worker acted suprised that it was down. I then seen the same show to other guests over time. The computer was never fixed. They have a very good free breakfast in morning. Nothing too special about this place, just a place to sleep.
