I like this motel. It's well located between St Paul and Minneapolis. Services of all kinds are nearby, which is good since the motel does not have a restaurant next\door. It's not far from I-94 to the south and the Minnesota State Fairgrounds to the north. It's a mom and pop, rooms are small, not much in the way of amenities (Coke machine by the office, lol), but a good spot if you use a motel room just for sleeping and then go "out into the world." It's got two levels. I prefer the ground story because you park right by the door of your room -- something I really like and that's not easy to find in "better" motels. I never hear sounds from other rooms; it seems to attract a quiet crowd. Sometimes one can hear an occasional railroad train nearby or truck go by on Snelling Avenue, but no din at all hours. It's right across the street from Hamline University in case you're an academic type. Staff/family have always been helpful and welcoming. Housekeeping has always been fine. I look forward to unfolding myself from my car after a long trip and stopping at this motel. I said in the box above that I visited in Sept, 2006, but in reality I can't remember exactly when I visited, but have each summer for the last eight or ten years (to visit family nearby).
