Spent several weeks in their 2 bdrm suite. The staff are friendly and the location is convienent to a Costco a block away. A new shopping/entertainment (The West End) is two block away that has things to offer.
The rooms could use a DVD(probably can't due to in room movies on the TV), and medicine type cabinet in the bathroom area for those staying longer than a few days. During the winter quests can use the pool in the SpringHill hotel next door. Excercise room is available 24 hrs.

We had a two bedroom suite and enjoyed the extra room it provided. We used the pull out sofa in the living room the first night but the mattress was dirty and uncomfortable so the next few nights our child slept on top of the sofa. I guess I'd recommend not planning on using the pull out sofa. Otherwise the room was fine. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and were always available for extra towels, sheets, newspapers, etc.

The location was very convenient, with a TGI Fridays and Olive Garden nearby. Easy to get downtown on the weekends.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one week when we were between homes. It is well located to downtown Minneapolis and had many nice amenities of home. It was clean, well cared for, and the staff was very accommodating. Our only beefs were that 1) they could add DVD players to the rooms to make a long-term stay a bit more "like home" and, more importantly, 2) they need to beef up their Internet situation. Almost every evening, the "high speed" Internet was essentially unusable because so many people at the hotel were using at the same time. I spoke to their internet vendor who confirmed that everything was working properly, but apparently the hotel doesn't have the bandwidth to accommodate all the users. This is a major bummer for business travellers who need reliable, fast connections to the Internet.

Towne Place Suites is located a fair distance away from the downtown areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul but there are a few attractions in the neighborhood, beside, one can hit the freeway within minutes as opposed to navigating through many city blocks.

There is something very homely and comfy about this place. Breakfasts are not wide spreads but nice. The service is personalized and the human element is much evident. We had a good time and look forward to visiting again.
