“This hotel meets all my needs as a businessman on the road”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

The front desk staff is very helpful. As someone who travels alot its nice to have a smile greet you as you come off the road. The lounge staff definitely sets a nice mature tone for a professional on the road. The new remodels of the rooms are great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice nights stay and to be treated excellently by a very professional and down to earth staff.

“Two thumbs up for Clarion Inn of Rochester”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Family reunion was planned at the Clarion Inn (Rochester, MN). The entire staff delieverd with clean rooms and friendly service. The manager had the pool reception area ready for our family when we arrived. White table clothes covered the tables. Signs read, "reserved for the "H" family reunion." How cool is that. The night manager help with any issues that came up. Pool and surrounding area was perfect for kids. Great place for family gathering. Plus good prices on the rooms!

Room Tip: Our room was in a quiet area, We heard no noise from the hall.

“This is an average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We stayed here for just one night because we were in town for a tournament. The front desk was polite and very helpful. The room was clean but could use some updating. The beds, well, not so good. First, we try to avoid double beds because they just are too small, and we're not big people, but that's all they had. The beds were very, very soft, almost like foam, not good. The heater in the room kept our room comfortable but was very loud as it frequently kicked on all night. The pool area was nice with the hot tub and kid pool also a game area. The restaurant food was very good and tried to accommodate for our gluten allergy. Overall a good hotel.

“Hockey Tournament Friendly!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

The hotel itself is a bit dated but the rooms were comfortable, clean and the staff is very friendly. We were treated very well and the hotel provided those of us attending the Rochester Hockey tournament with the extras that our team looks for. The hotel is located within walking distance to the rink which is located on the fairgrounds. We were given a reception on Friday with beer and appetizers for the adults and space for each team to gather and share our potluck gatherings. The staff was smart to have placed most of the hockey teams near the pool area so the chaos of 13 & 14 year old boys from 3 different hockey teams didn't disturb the other guests. They were also very forgiving of the mess that get's left behind with so many boys in one place! My suggestion is to check with the hotel to see if there is a hockey tournament before booking during the winter months.

“We like it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

This is a very large property that used to be the Holiday Inn South and we stayed here a couple of times in the past because of family, and now we have stayed twice this year, and like it much better under this management. The pool is warm (I swam laps every day in it) and is quite popular with families as it is indoors: it is in the center of the property and surrounded by rooms, those on the bottom floor having patios (they are called the Cabana rooms) that front on the pool. We had one of those one time and really enjoyed it as it was a family reunion and people could easily stop and meet up there. The only drawback with those rooms would be the noise from the pool and the humidity. Otherwise, I liked having a patio off my room!
There is a restaurant onsite which also offers a free hot cooked breakfast if you are a Choice Hotel member. A large outdoor patio has a bar and heaters for evenings which is very popular.
We would stay here again; yes, it is older, but we have always found it clean and very convenient. Staff was always wonderful.
