“Great location, amenities and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is a great place to stay when visiting Rochester. It is connected to the Mayo Clinic (and the rest of downtown) via underground walkway. We weren't in town to visit the clinic, but most of the hotel guests are because it is so close.

The entire place has had a major face lift. The pool/workout/arcade area is very nice. There are rooms that walk right out to that area which is very convenient for families.

Breakfast and underground parking was included in our room rate which was great.

Overall it's a good, reasonable place to stay whether in town to visit the clinic or just to get away.

“Excellent location and renovation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We just spent three nights at the Kahler Inn and couldn't have been happier. The suite worked great for me and husband. We could play Scrabble at the table, make tea and coffee and keep food in the fridge. The breakfast was great except I had to fast two out of three mornings so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as my husband did. We will definitely stay here when I return for my follow-up visit.

“Caring People”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The Kahler Inn and Suites is located very near the Mayo Clinic. It is connected underground so you don't need to go outside to make your appointments. Over the past five months I have stayed there off and on with my nephew while he underwent test, radiation, chemo, and finally the surgery. He is doing well. This property probably has 95% of the occupents using the clinic so a lot of troubled people. The staff, from Mike who helps with the bags, to the very sweet maids are compationate and caring.

“Question about bed making”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We've stayed at your hotel many times and enjoy the convenience of location to Mayo Clinic. Your remodeling is done well with good taste. I have a question, however about the bedmaking procedure. We usually stay in a queen/queen suite and have found lately that the bottom sheet appears to be put on with the length of the sheet running to the width of the bed causing the bed to be "short sheeted". Is there a reason for this?

Dear James R,

Thank you for posting your comments about your stay with us at the Kahler Inn and Suites in Rochester MN. I have passed on your comments about the bed making to make sure another guest does not run into this problem. We have solved the issue by using another sheet on the bed. I am sorry this happen and have retrained our housekeeping staff to do a better job of this for the future.

“updated and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

the hotel has had a major update. Our room had new carpet, paint and was clean. The doors were not replaced and showed some signs of wear. The staff was helpful, friendly, and provide good information on transportation, etc. The in house cafe is good for breakfast, but a little below standard for dinner. The cafe is not open Friday and over the week end. The hotel is directly across from the Methodist hospital and the Mayo clinic. The hotel is connected with subways to walk to Mayo .
Great location if you are goint to Mayo Clinic
