We like to travel and save money also. We have stayed at other Motel 6's now and then. And for the most part is has been OK. But this one was pretty bad! It was supposed to be a non smoking motel. But our room and another family member's room was awful. It was like being right in a bar. Rochester, Minnesota is a very lovely town. Too bad this awful motel is there. Maybe someday someone in management for the motel can clean this place up. Pick another place to stay, especially if you have children.

We were visiting our son and pay for 3 nights. Our first impresion was, "Hey, it is more than ok for less than 40 bucks", but later we found that the room has "living creatures". Yes, ants everywhere but the most populated place seems the bathroom.
The room is very basic, tv, clock alarm, telephone and that is. No cafemaker, no hair blower, no shampoo and the towels, they where as thin as the toilet paper. My son did not allowed us to stayed there, so take care, it is cheap and well located but, take care with the bugs and if you want to have your hair clean and do not want to get out with 30 F with you hair wet, take your own stuff (towel also).

I would not stay at this hotel again. It was not very clean, the door would not open and had to give it a good kick to get in. There was blood on the door where someone probably tried to get the deadbolt to work and had hurt themselves. There was no clock radio or coffee pot in the room. If it had not been so cold outside, I would have rather slept in my car!

We just needed a one night stay and did not want anyplace fancy or expensive. Just a night's sleep. We tried the Motel Six and were very pleased. Everything looked either new or fixed up very well. The motel was very clean and had all the amenities that one comes to expect at places that are more expensive. There were a lot more rooms than you would think when driving up to it and the room itself was large enough too. If you need to be at the Mayo Clinic then it takes a drive to get there as the Motel Six is at least a mile from downtown Rochester and is on the four lane highway going towards the Twin Cities. It proved that a motel does not have to be ridiculously expensive to be clean, comfortable, and up to date. The folks who checked us in were nice and hospitable too. There was even what looked like a small pool but it was covered in snow in February.
