We chose this hotel based on reviews on tripadvisor and our experience lined right up with that of other reviewers. Clean, nothing fancy, moderately priced, friendly staff. Very spacious room, which we really liked, rather than the more common narrow tunnel-like entrance to a room which is often found. Fridge-microwave combination, hair dryer, coffeemaker, WiFi. Furniture a little dated and worn, but we weren't looking for 4 star atmosphere. Direct access to Famous Dave's Barbeque restaurant which was handy and delicious. Easy access to US Highway 52. Outstanding continental breakfast with HB eggs, waffles, pastries, fruit, cold cereal and milk, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, yogurt, toast and attentive staff.

We frequently stay at the GuestHouse in when we come to Rochester to visit family, and the motel has become a home away from home for us. It has everything we need all under one roof - clean and comfortable rooms with a mini fridge and microwave, convenient parking, an indoor pool, a great continental breakfast, and helpful staff! Plus there's a great choice of restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store. The location is right off the highway, so it's easy to get to. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a motel in Rochester!

Great breakfast with waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, toast and more and beverage bar is open all day---large breakfast room, also enjoyed the pool. Has a shuttle to Mayo Clinic and Hospitals although we preferred to drive and park at Mayo Clinic garages. We also enjoy eating at the attached Famous Dave's restaurant.

We stay in Rochester once a year for a long weekend and have chosen this hotel every year for at least the last five years. We tried other hotels before this one for several years but this one is the only one that gives an overall value that keeps us coming back. This hotel is nothing fancy in any sense of the word, but it is located in a nice location close to hwy 52, has Famous Dave's that will deliver to your room, Perkins is next door, Olive Garden is a block away, a grocery store is super close, and the hotel has a very above average free breakfast, and allows us to bring our dog.

This hotel is not perfect - a few years ago they gave our room away (was reserved with card) and the weekend we are in town is always a busy weekend when there are zero rooms available anywhere in all of Rochester, so we slept in the back of our suburban. We were not happy, but after a few more years of staying at this hotel we've obviously gotten over it! We do call a few days before our reservation and the morning of our reservation to do extra confirmations of our reservation though!! We've had no problems since that experience. Additionally, if you are traveling with your dog I'd suggest you doubly confirm that they know you have a pet when you make your reservation. We always note this when we reserve online but for the last two years they are shocked and don't have us slated to be in a pet designated room. I have to pull out my reservation and show them that I told them we were bringing our dog.

Don't take any criticism I note too harshly, I just think an honest review with pros & cons is best. We obviously recommend this hotel since we stay here every time we are in Rochester.
