After searching and comparing several Rochester motel options the Guest House Inn was the clear winner in terms of convenience and price for a long-term stay, in my case, five nights. The kitchen suites are very large and fully equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, sink, and dishes. Some rooms also have a dishwasher.
The shuttle service to Mayo Clinic facilities is fast and reliable. A Hy-Vee grocery store and strip mall are two blocks away; there is a Perkins Restaurant, Famous Dave's, and TGI Friday's restaurant all within two blocks from the motel. Many of the food places offer delivery service, such as Pizza Hut. And the sit-down restaurants honor a 10%-15% discount if you show your Guest House room key.
The overnight noise in the hall is surprisingly quiet. I was amazed at how little I heard of guest neighbors. The motel also has a sizable indoor swimming pool, and typically equipped continental breakfast room. The front desk staff are all very helpful and always present. The Guest House Inn at Rochester isn't the newest of motel facilities, but it is well maintained. For a Mayo Clinic visit the Guest House Inn worked perfectly for me. The only, minor "complaint" is that the bathrooms are a small if you are traveling with more than two people.
I have stayed at the Guest House Inn for two week-long visits and I fully intend to use the Guest House Inn for my next visit to Rochester.
