My husband and I are in hotels at least 200 nights a year, have travelled to every state in the US, (except Hawaii) and to 28 other countries. This Days Inn was the absolute WORST - it was the first time we couldn't stay somewhere we'd checked into. When we opened the door to the room the smell was the first thing we noticed - it was awful. Then we saw shabby furniture, a few minutes later, 2 big dead bugs, and mold around the sink. Since it was late and rooms were scarce, we decided we really had no choice but to stay as it was late and we had a long drive ahead of us the next day. AND THEN my husband flushed the toilet. About a minute later we heard water - pouring out of the toilet TANK. We immediately called the front desk and a "gentleman" (?) came to our room - his first words being "oh no"! Another couple minutes and he flushed the toilet at which time it stopped, When it stopped the man said "sir - it stopped" - expecting that to make it OK. We said we couldn't stay - it was horrible, and he said he would clean it up, that he didn't have a different room and he couldn't take off the room charge!! It had already soaked the carpet into a good part of the room, and in another minute it started pouring out again. Unbelievable! Well, we didn't stay, but we did take pictures to prove our case if neccessary. This may sound like an exaggeration, but it is THE TRUTH. So beware, this place is nasty in every way!

I booked my stay on Hotwire.com. I've stayed at many Days Inns in the past and this by far was the worst experience ever. Our booking was for 3 people and it was guaranteed for enough beds to fit 3. When we arrived at the hotel, a woman semi-greeted us and I told her my name. She pulled up her paper and said I have a queen smoking room with 1 bed. I said, no, we have 3 people and that was what was on the booking and she smugly said, that's not what hotwire told us and we have 1 bed for you. 3 grown women 1 bed, serilously?? She said you can have 2 beds if you pay $40 more. Really?? That's a good one. So I called Hotwire. Our booking was confirmed for 3 people and they contacted the hotel. The hotel refused to budge unless I paid the extra amount. The owner was no where to be found at that point, but he finally arrived and got to speak to the person at hotwire. He argued with her IN FRONT OF US his supposed customers. He told us with our booking, which we had gotten for 59 a night, that he only gets paid 41. So now we were told to get the extra bed we had to pay another 40 which would put 80 in his pocket. A pretty good racket in my opinion!! Absolutely no customer service here. Don't bother with this place!! The room hadn't been used in a while, had cobwebs hanging in part of the room, the bathroom had a huge dead bug on the floor. The refrigerator was dirty, and was missing parts. I should have taken pictures since I know the owner will post a rebuttle and a picture can't be denied. The only thing good I can even say about this experience is that it's over. I plead and beg you to not give this man business!!! Listen to me and the other posters...this place is a horrible mess!!

Do not stay here, even if you have to spend an extra $200 and drive to the next state. We thought we were on candid camera there were so many things wrong. Dirty rooms, broken furniture, no fridge, wife was trapped in bathroom because door wouldn't open, hole in shower wall, 45 minutes to brew 4 cups of coffee, and more. Manager/owner would not budge on any type of concession. I have uploaded some photos as well. Unbelievable for a national hotel chain.

I was sorely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I found the room to be dated and stale smelling. It was cramped and overstuffed with worn furniture. One of the bathroom walls had peeling paint. Another had obviously been patched and primed but not painted to match the other walls. I also question the standard to cleanliness. The price for the one-night stay was about the same as the price of the other hotels we visited. This one was even more expensive that a two room suite at a Madison hotel. This hotel did not even come close to the standards of any of the other places we stayed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Red Wing area.
