Stayed there snocross weekend, against the warnings of friends.... but everywhere else was booked up. Lets sum it up....
Checked in Thursday.... bottle of blue cleaner left next to tv, and urine on the toilet seat....and a stale bagel in the microwave!
Friday..... As we come in, female desk attendant warns us that 10 pm is quiet time in a totally nasty tone... midnight, people are partying and we can't sleep, we complain... nothing is done.
Saturday.... breakfast is cold and there is hair in the sausage dish.... ish ish ish..... crusty syrup on most of the tables too. Had do not disturb sign up, some house cleaner went into our room and cleaned it anyways! Do not disturb sign was still on the door! Place is dirty too! Main area seemed decent and nicely decorated, but halls, windows, under bed skirts, toilet seat/toilet, dust all over tops of refrigerators and behind tvs etc! And their walls are PAPER THIN, I thought AmericInn is the ones that brag about sound proof rooms?

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay over Sno Cross weekend at the AmericInn Duluth-South. We appreciate hearing from our guests, and value any comments that will allow us to better serve our guests.
Beginning in November 2011 we are in the process of updating all of our guest rooms, including new paint, draperies and lighting and more.
Regarding the statement of finding a “bottle of blue cleaner” in your room, we document the issuing and returning of all cleaning bottles every day to prevent any spray bottles from being left in a guest room. I’ve checked our daily log book and did not find any notes of any spray bottle unaccounted for or any guests bringing any cleanliness issues or notifying us that any of our cleaning supplies were left in any guest room. So if that did indeed occur I am terribly sorry.
Friday night, there were two male desk clerks on until 11pm and the overnight staff was also a man, so I’m not sure who the female was that could have been warning you about quiet time at 10 pm. But we do our absolute best to make sure all our guests have a comfortable stay with us. This does include occasionally reminding guests that are speaking loudly as they return to the hotel that there are other guests enjoying the comforts of their room, hopefully allowing all our guests an opportunity to recharge and energize for the rest of their weekend.
The walls in this hotel are made of the construction to prevent noise being heard from room to room. We do occasionally have guests that make more noise than even solid block walls can prevent being heard in the next room. If this is brought to our attention we gladly ask them to be respectful of their neighbor, and ask them to quiet down. I did not find any noise complaints logged in our guest service log any night throughout the Sno Cross weekend. Had we been notified, we would have gladly taken care of any issue at that time.
Our rooms are inspected every day by the Executive Housekeeper or inspector after they are cleaned by the guest room attendants. We have also been recently been inspected by our corporate office where we scored very high. We are very proud of our customer satisfaction scores at this property. They have always been very high. We are sorry we did not meet this guest’s expectation.
We certainly hope we have the opportunity to win this customer back to the AmericInn Duluth South.
