We just returned from a one night stay with our kids age 3 and 10. We just decided at the last minute to go somewhere for a night and this hotel worked out perfect for us. They are working on/have recently renovated it. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
We went on a Thursday night, and it was pretty quiet, the kids enjoyed the waterpark alot. We stayed on the first floor, just down the hall from the pool area. There was never more than 2 other families in the water park area besides us (which was great!) They said weekends are busier. I would say it is geared towards 12 and under, although my husband and I also enjoyed the slides too! I liked the fact that you can keep an eye on everybody easily there. They had a tube slide, body slide, zero depth entry pool with splash fountains and a toddler slide for the little ones. We also enjoyed the little lazy river. The hot tub is decent size, but wasn't too hot (they were fixing the problem though). The life guards were very attentive, but they do have to take a 10-15 minute break every 2 hours where everyone has to get out of the pool. The times were posted so we planned around that. The water was pleasantly warm, which was great. We brought some small pool toys, and they had noodles, kickboards, and basketballs to use as well.
There is an arcade near the pool and the kids played a few games but they didn't give out tickets, and there isn't a "redemption center" like our kids were use to at arcades. They did have gumball type machines there where you could get trinkets with tokens.
Our 2 queen bed room was spacious with a large TV, lounge chair, desk with chair, fridge, microwave, and small coffee pot.
Kids eat free at the hotel restaurant with an adult during your stay, and they offered the normal kid menu (mac/cheese, burgers, chix nuggets, pizza, etc...) came with choice of fries, fruit or veggies, drink, and ice cream. The adult menu ranged from around $8-17 or so. My husband thought his meal was great, mine was just OK. We did have to wait along time for our food to come, even though it didn't appear very busy there. That's probably our only complaint.
There are many other restaurants nearby, a sports type grill, timberlodge steakhouse, famous daves, subway etc. Plus it's close to a gas station, and of course Cabella's store.
