The Good:
Staff was friendly and accommodated an early check in. I really appreciate that kind of service. Our room was a good size, the game room and pool area looked pretty fun and there's a restaurant on site (we didn't eat there though). Good pet policy and good cable channel options.

The Average:
The property just seemed run down and it could definitely use a renovation. It seemed like our room used to be a smoking room, and while the hotel probably did their best to turn it into a non-smoking room, we could still tell.

My advice to people who are sensitive to smoke is to: 1. Request a room away from the current smoking-allowed rooms. 2. Ask to see your room before checking in. I'm assuming that not all of the rooms are as smoky smelling as ours was. I'm also assuming that this hotel is pretty decent for the area, though this is just a guess because I'm not familiar with any of the other options.

My partner and I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Aug 13th for a wedding reception. We booked a pool side room on the first floor. The room was very clean and the king size bed was nice. The front desk had even called to welcome us to the Holiday Inn, and stated that if we needed anything to call etc.. ( nice touch ) Front desk staff were nice .. It is clear that no this is not a new property and has aged a little but was still a nice place to stay for the night. ( not sure if they are in the process of painting the outside of the building as you could see white patch work had been done in places.. if not I would paint )

The down side ... If you do stay in a pool side room the pool noise can be a little loud but does calm down after 10:00 p.m. ( was not a big deal) We tired to have breakfast in the morning but could not get in as there was a line, so I could not say how the food was. I will say that the female who was working the front at the restaurant did not seem to like her job. She was very cold and could have cared less about you being at the hotel. ( We went to the Perkins that is only 3 or 4 blocks up the road. )

Price: I would say that it is a little over priced. I would not have booked a room for $150.00 . However, being it was a family event I paid. I would say that the room should have been about $30.00 less in it's price.

Stayed here one night while touring colleges in the area. Nice pool and game room area. Only negatives were a moldy ice bucket top (replaced with brand new ice bucket immediately) and found a few cheerios on the floor by the beds (housekeeping could be a bit better). Minor problems in an otherwise decent hotel.

I am very much suprised that the Holiday Inn flag is still being maintained without an update to this property. Be very carefully if you have an issue with a smoking room. I requested a non-smoking room and it was obvious the room assigned was a previous smoking room that was turned over. Had breathing issues all night. Checked out at three in the morning. No many alternatives here in town so good luck.
