Last night we stayed at the AmericInn Hotel in Virginia, MN. We rented the Master Suite and checked into a very clean, beautiful 2 room suite with king bed, jacuzzi, sitting room, and fireplace. Our rate was 124/night. After a short time we noticed on the bedside table a note indicating the management could not control the "train noise" but attached styrofoam earplugs for our comfort... At about 10:00 we heard/felt our first train. It shook the room and the trains use their horns! The trains came at a rate of at least 1 per hour all night. The tracks are located about 15 feet from the hotel. I would NEVER recommend this hotel if you have any aspirations about sleep.

Had to travel here on business and was very pleased with the level of cleanliness and caring of the staff. A copy of US Today was available for anyone who wanted it. This is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination but they have an indoor, heated pool and a fabulous whirlpool. There were unlimited towels by the pool, which is something even snooty resorts don't always offer. The lobby is cozy and in the morning you can enjoy fare such as: a wide variety of cereals, juices, fresh coffee, breads, hardboiled eggs and fresh donouts and sweet rolls. I believe most rooms have a larger mini fridge and a microwave. Be advised there is a nearby train that runs through every two hours, so bring earplugs just in case! Don't know why anyone would come here other than business, but all in all it was a comfortable stay and they have a frequent stay program-for every 10 nights you get $40 cash.
