A smaller, friendly hotel that has been recently upgraded. I was given a good sized corner room with a very functional work area, two flat screen TVs, and a very comfy separate bedroom. Doubletree typically has very comfortable bed and this hotel was no exception. The service staff from maid to front desk to restaurant staff were all professional and friendly. The restaurant food was only so-so, and their staff were responsible for a good chuckle. I had business at the Hilton Minneapolis and understood that it was close to the Doubletree - a primary reason for my selection. I asked three separate restaurant employees if they knew where the Hilton was located. None of them knew where it was located. I proceeded to walk out of the hotel to ask a cab driver for some guidance only to see the Hilton - all 12 stories staring at me less than two blocks away. Oh well, no harm done and, like everyone else in the hotel, they were very friendly.

Spent four nights here, November 13-16, 2011. Warm cookies and kind desk clerk met us upon arrival. Services were smoothly delivered, professional and, unobtrusive.
Rooms are cozy, well appointed, and clean. No complaints! Housekeeping was couteous and discreet.
Food was sub-par, but staff was very helpful and willing to point you to a restaurant featuring your favorite fare. Bar staff was friendly and prices were fair.
Note: Until the tremperature began falling, the location was perfect. However, as everyone except me must have already known, a two-block walk in Minneapolis can seem like a trek through the frozen Arctic when the wind starts blowing. (My fault for not packing a heavy coat.)
Conclusion: Great location, good facilities and reasonably priced. A good, safe bet, for a week in Minneapolis.

Stayed here for one quick night last week for some business downtown. Hotel is not connected to the skyway which is an inconvenience in the cold weather.

Rooms are nice and spacious. Service is good. Food in restaurant is so-so. Starbucks is right next door and connected to the restaurant.

So overall it was just ok. Corporate rate was quite cheap though so the value was good.

Nothing glamorous about the outward appearance of this Doubletree, but recent renovations make the interior and the guest rooms warm and very comfortable. I enjoyed working from my suite and had no problems with the internet. The equipment in the fitness room was in good repair. Staff was friendly and professional. As a Hilton Honors member, I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast in the downstairs restuarant every morning. Hot breakfast items as well as the traditional continental breakfast were a part of the buffet. Very close to the restaurants and shops on Nicollet Mall. I also walked to the Twins stadium one evening for a game. Can't really say anything negative about the place. I have stayed at this hotel three or four times in the last year, and I have always been pleased. Will stay there again.
