“Great people and great hotel”

This was a family trip to Minneapolis plus we got tickets to see the Lion King and everything was outstanding. We arrived at the hotel with no problem and were greeted by Ira, a very nice and funny valet. The front desk staff was awesome with all the help getting us a room. The rooms were very clean but the beds are a bit uncomfortable at first then we learned that we could adjust them and everything was fine.

Ira once again helped us, this time with travel arrangements and told us about the Lion King and how wonderful it was. The kids really got excited about the play and it really did help to here a review from the valet. When we returned Victor was working valet and Erica was at the front desk, those two were so nice and Erica was smiling and seemed to really enjoy being there.

On behalf of the Harrison Family I would like to say thank you Hilton Garden Inn.

Room Tip: I believe the odd number rooms face downtown, the view is nice.

“Excellent Hotel for Business Travels; Location Not Very Close to Business District”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in July 2011 and it was excellent. Clean, nicely updated rooms available. The only warning I would place on staying here is that hotel is on the far side of the "downtown" area with regard to business meetings so it is quite the walk from the hotel to the business district. However, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Majority of those staying at the hotel were there on business travel, so checkin & out were a breeze. Though I didn't have an opportunity to try the hotel pool, or fitness facilities, there was both an indoor pool and a fitness center available on premises. Overall, this would be my first choice for business travel based upon the value of the stay, but unfortunately due to the location, it is not very convenient. If you are coming to the Minneapolis area for leisure, this hotel is outstanding for the value and it's close to the Nicollet Mall / bars & restaurants (only about 4 blocks or so). I would not hestitate to recommend to anyone looking for a great value in a hotel for Minneapolis leisure!

“HOLY MACKEREL--Amazing Stay!”

The room was impeccable. The pictures online did not do the room justice. It is very spacious and had a beautiful view out of the window. The accommodations were great and there's even soap, conditioner, and body wash pumps in the show. Good-bye travel size! Everything was fresh in the room and whirlpool was a nice relaxer. For our anniversary, we added on the romantic package for a bottle of champagne/wine and breakfast for two. It was worth the add on! The breakfast was so good! The staff was what really made the trip wonderful. Everyone was genuinely kind. Colton at the front desk is knowledgeable, friendly, and a doll face! Janet in the Great American Grill/Bar was a hoot. She is very fun and personable; join her for a drink! Andrew is the food and beverage manager and wears many hats. My favorite was the hat he wore to make my french toast!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 911, so I would guess that odd numbered rooms get the great view. The whirlpool s...

“Fantastic hotel located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

I stay at this hotel every time I go to Minneapolis. It is close to the main downtown hot spots, very clean, and the staff is fantastic. It's rare you find all these key aspects in a hotel. The only downside is they don't have a hot tub and parking is via valet (ie. additional charge). However, if your traveling to Minneapolis and want to stay downtown you can't go wrong with this hotel.

“Great Value and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed here on the New Year's Eve weekend to see a Vikings game. At the time of our stay, if you stayed over a Sunday night and showed the front desk your Vikings ticket stubs, they took $30 off your room rate for the Sunday night. The front desk staff wasn't aware of the promotion, so I printed off the hotel home page where the promotion is referenced, and they honoured it without question.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Metrodome, if that. Target, Macy's and other shopping areas, as well as restaurants are easily within walking distance as well. Haskell's liquor store is a 5 minute walk away and has an incredible selection of wine and beer. They are not open on Sunday. The hotel is directly next to the I-35W ramp which makes it very easy to get to virtually any part of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to the nearest Light Rail station, but we didn't take advantage of this. I have used the light rail before and it is a great way to get to the Mall of America if you don't want to drive.

Our rate included breakfast, but it is normally priced at $12.95 and kids 12 and under eat free. The breakfast includes hot, made to order items such as french toast, waffles, pancakes, omelets, eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausages, etc. as well as standard buffet items such as toast, cereal, yogurt, pastries, juice, coffee/tea and other items. Fresh fruit, including strawberries, was also available. There is a nice bar in the dining area as well, but we didn't venture here in the evenings.

Coffee is available in the lobby in the morning and I believe it is refreshed again at check-in time. It isn't replenished at night but tea bags are left out so you can use these in your room.

The gym had 3 treadmills (2 of which were not working during our stay) 2 ellipticals and a recumbent bike. There was also a full set of weights, heavy balls, and a stability ball. Free weights are not commonly found in hotels so this was a nice bonus for us. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice, although not very large.

Staff throughout the hotel was excellent and housecleaning was particularly diligent. I've never really noticed housecleaning efforts before but I did at this hotel. Our various electrical cords were nicely wrapped up, areas were tidied and bathrooms were spotless. It seemed that they took some extra care as opposed to most places.

Rooms are standard but more than adequate. We had a 2 double bed room. Beds are adjustable on each side, which is something I haven't seen before. I didn't find it made that much of a difference to me, but it may to some. Rooms have a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. TVs are updated, widescreens and channel selection was fine.

For the price we paid ($99 breakfast included) it was excellent value and the location was great for taking advantage of what the downtown has to offer.
