I went to eat at Manny's steakhouse (really good itself) with my two daughters ages 16 and 20 and a couple friends of mine, one of whom is visiting from out of town. I had heard that the Foshay had a small museum dedicated to its history and an observation deck on the top floor, but had never been so I thought it would have been a good day to give it a try since we were already at Mannys which is in the same building. We went to the front desk and were told that it had closed over an hour before. I was disappointed, especially since my friend was leaving to go back home the next day. Just as we were being told a security guard walked by, overheard us and said if we didn't mind waiting a few minutes he'd take us up after he finished what he was doing. He came back and apologized for the wait that wasn't even 10 minutes. He introduced himself as Jeremy (I made sure to get his name again at the end). He brought us up there and we had a great time. The museum was very informative. My oldest daughter asked if we could see the observation deck, I said that wasn't really necessary but Jeremy said no problem and unlocked the door for us, to my amazement I was expecting it to be on only one side. But it wraps all the way around the building and you can see for miles! Jeremy told us things not only about the Foshay but other places as well and pointed out landmarks in the distance. He was very nice and even really funny at times. He managed to make my youngest laugh when I haven't been able to get a smile from her in over a week! Again it was extremely generous of him to go out of his way and take the time without even really being asked. Hopefully all of the W staff is that wonderful, because I now plan on staying there with my wife for our anniversary in June.
