Outside of the hotel is a little worse for wear and makes you wonder what your stay will be like, but once inside things are good. Staff was courteous, the lobby/breakfast area small but clean. Our room was clean, beds comfortable and a very hot shower. Nothing fancy here but a very quiet and comfortable stay.

Stayed one night recently. Room was clean and quiet, staff incredibly friendly and helpful- both with local sites, directions, shops, restaurants, etc.

My husband and I have stayed at 3 super 8's in the past, and vowed never to go back to one. The rooms smelled really bad, so bad that a bottle of fabree would not work, and very dirty. We were going to Hibbing to see our kids, & I booked online at the super 8 being that this was the only hotel that showed up in hibbing, I booked a room. When we got there the lobby was very clean, the front desk person was really nice & friendly. We went to our room and was very surprised on how clean it was. The bed was kinda hard, but we can deal with that. We don't eat breakfast in any hotel, so I can not comment on their breakfast. We will be going back to the Hibbing Super 8 again.

I chose this hotel of the two in town based on advice that the alternative is getting pretty run down. The Super 8 is on a main access to Hibbing, close to the medical center (my reason to be there). It is very basic: the small lobby is completely filled with a few tables intended to accommodate coffee drinkers / continental breakfasters, necessarily close to the small front desk. When I arrived, the parking lot held a flotilla of semi-trailer bottom dump trucks--some of them on unpaved lot--and the lobby tables were equally filled with their operators, many of them bringing the unpaved lot into the lobby. The desk clerk is to be commended for taking great care not to say my room number aloud, and for handling my entire transaction quietly given the close proximity of so many others, just a good practice. While the setting was very consistent with the no-frills, working approach of the Iron Range culture, I noted the next morning that the lobby showed no sign of the mud of the night before. The room was clean, basic, and without concerns. The bed was nothing special, but also nothing bad. I had a single, accessible room: the large bath included four grab bars in the tub and three around the toilet, and provided a shower chair. There was plenty of hot water and water pressure. Linens--both bed and bath--had a very faint odor of cigarette smoke, but probably from prior to washing and not recent exposure. Although my room was near the front entry, it was quiet, both indoors and from the nearby highway. On check-in, the room and hotel smelled aired-out; on check-out, the hall smelled notably of cigarettes, presumably from people departing rooms. The complementary continental breakfast was also basic: the supermarket version of bagels, blueberry muffins, cake doughnuts, waffles, and english muffins, plus a couple kinds of cereal, some instant oatmeal, juice, and coffee. (The hotel is directly across the highway from a McDonalds, the closest alternative.) All in all: good, basic service, a basic room that met basic needs, and sympathy for the staff who are obviously attentive to keeping a clean and fresh-smelling hotel while challenged by their floor plan. Completely adequate, no-frills experience.
