“Hotel staff member stole from us and management pushed it under the rug!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My husband and I thought it would be fun to spend a night at this hotel/waterpark for my birthday. Checking in was chaotic since they only had two workers at their busiest time (4:00pm - check in time) and it's the same line whether you're checking into the hotel or if you're simply buying waterpark tickets. They were very disorganized but friendly so it wasn't too bad having to wait in line. Waterpark and hotel room were both very nice and clean. We ordered room service for breakfast the next morning before we left and the food was very good. We were pleased with our stay until we went downstairs to check out and my husband received a detailed copy of our bill. Long story short, we found out that the girl who delivered our room service had added a $5 tip to our bill! Fifteen percent gratuity is already included in the bill so my husband just simply signed the bill, leaving the tip and total lines blank (which he learned his lesson to never do again!). It was very obvious that my husband did not write the tip amount because the pen used was much thicker than the one my husband had used to sign his name. After it took HALF AN HOUR for the very disorganized staff to refund our $5, my husband then asked to speak to a manager. When the manager came over my husband explained to him what had happened, pointed out the obvious pen differences, and said that is flat out stealing. The only thing the manager would say is that he knows the girl who delivered our room service and didn't think this would be something she would do. He also said he can't say whether the two pens were different (even though it was very obvious). He took my husband's name and number and said he'd "look into it" and get back to us. That was two weeks ago and we have yet to hear from him! That leaves us to assume that they are hoping we'll forget about it and they can push it under the rug. I could care less about the $5 (which we did get refunded), it's the fact that a staff member stole from us and management could care less! We have contacted Holiday Inn corporate and hope to hear from them soon.

“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We stayed on a Sunday night for a birthday present for our son with 5 kids. We purchased a kids suite, which was perfect because the boys had their own room with bunk beds, where they could shut the door. The room was very spacious and nice.
The kids enjoyed the waterpark. It was very crowded since there was not school on Monday. The chlorine is very strong but understandable since they have so many children attending. The video arcade room is very disappointing since it does not give the kids tickets for prizes. (The Holiday Inn in Maple Grove is much better for this).
The front desk was very nice, let us check in an hour early and brought us a cot for our room for the extra child.
We ordered pizza from a neighborhood place so did not eat in the restaurant.
We had a great stay.

“SLOW, POOR MANAGEMENT, 2 FAMILIES WERE SICK.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

It started from the check in; waiting in line, the hotel messed up our reservations only to push us aside and wait while they helped others. Are the other people more important then us? The rooms were clean and nice. We ate supper at the resturant, they were out of French fries, our orders were messed up but supper went okay. We then made reservations for 10 people to eat at 9AM. About 7AM kids were running up and down the halls on 3rd and 4th floor non-stop. We arrived for breakfast at about 8:50 to find our reservations were gave to another party of 10 people. (That's why we gave you a name with reservations). We basically were seated in the gathering lobby, once seated the waitress was gone, no food order, no drink order.. Nothing. About 9:30 the Bar tender (who was also there the night before) arrived to order drinks. About 10AM drinks arrived and they took our food order. About 10:30-10:40 our food arrived. Obviously cold already. Keep in mind check out is 11AM. The Manager stopped at our table and said sorry, sorry etc... No bill for the food was handed to us, but i was told they also gave away many food orders that morning. Upon checkout, my bill was $144.13 but my card was charged $153 and some change. (we ordered nothing else with our credit card). I have yet to call about that. Once home my wife, daughter and myself had an upset stomach. Today i spoke with my neighbor and they were all home sick Monday and Tuesday. Never, Never, Never again. This Hotel has some serious Management issues in the Resturant. The servers are wonderful and do their job well, but they are so overwhelmed with duties. No direction. I'm amazed that this is a Holiday Inn and not some low-budget hotel. The waterpark was fun, but i think they have some health issues along with the Management.

Room Tip: Choose another resturant.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am disappointed to see that your stay was less than Outstanding. I have shared your review with our F&B manager and we will work together to address the service issues you encountered. As for the illness, we have no other communications from guests that they became ill while at the hotel. The restaurnat serves hundreds of people each week.
Please call me directly to discuss the billing issues so that they can be resolved to your satisfaction.
Thank you,
Greg Pike

“WORST WATERPARK EVER!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This is my first time ever writing a review but I feel like everyone needs to know about this place before you waste your money!! I have never been treated so badly in my life... The staff is so rude and treats you like you are an inconvinece to them. VERY VERY VERY rude people!! The restaurant is a joke. I would highly recommend not eating there and bringing your own food. We got to the restaurant at 9:30am and did not recieve our breakfast until 11:00am!! The locker room is so tiny and not enough lockers for everyone to put their stuff in. Also luckily I was able to check in on time but we saw some groups waiting an hour after check-in until they were able to get their room.

I do not recommend this place. Maybe if they learn some customer service and hire more staff the hotel would be able to run a lot smoother. Therefore, if you do go... defend for your own stuff and do not expect anything from them!!!!

However I WILL NEVER STEP A FOOT IN THERE AGAIN!!

“Easy to see the kids while you relax!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I loved this water park. I could see the kids from my chair, with a great book and drink in hand. I would say its good for kids ages 2-13/14. 3 good water slides, tall 3 stories. A lazy river, a decent pool with hoops for bball and a large spa/hot tub. Also islnad like area with slides for toddlers/ preK. I thought it was great for the money. Its not the Dells but, its perfect if you just want to sit and watch the kids play while you Relax. My kids are 7, 9 and 10 and swimmers. Great one-night get away. Food was not good though, but the Smoothies were good. Locker rooms VERY SMALL. VERY. Still give it a 5 for the quality of stuff packed into a small area so you can supervise easily. Beds were very comfy, fyi

Room Tip: Ste was a good value, very roomy. The hallways though are very loud with footsteps, echoing. Go wi...
