“Nice return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We always stay here when visiting family in the area. It is definitely time for a make-over. It's become a little worn down over the past few years--carpets are faded; they don't seem to know how to clean carpet stains or vacuum next to walls. Furniture in room was worn and banged up.

Even so, the place remains a clean and friendly place. The breakfast is decent for any general, all-included buffet. There are a couple ladies who have been working there for a while and who are really sweet and attentive.

One night I left my purse on a chair in the lobby. An assistant manager called the room to say they had it. Then they carefully explained that the assistant opened up the purse only in the company of the manager to find my id in my wallet, and then they closed it up right away. Very Minnesota! Very conscientious.

Our son loves the climbing area in the adjoining city center.

It is very convenient to lots of good restaurants and to I494.

We used travelocity to get a great rate several months in advance and saved 33%. It turned out that there was a major gymnastics competition in town that week, so the rates went up and the hotel was packed, so I'm glad we didn't wait to book it. Even though we paid through Travelocity, they treated us very well.

“comfortable room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

The Residence In in Edina, Minnesota is a great choice if you want abit more room than a hotel romm offers. The unit we stayed in had a small, but servicable kitchen, a seperate bedroon with 2 queens and a small living room. We only stayed 1 night, but it would be a great option for longer stays too. The beds were comfortable. The bath area was very small.
The location is very convienent, just noth of 494 in the France Ave. area. They offer a good complimentary breakfast and every evening they have complimentary activities such as taco noight, or a trip the the Mall of America. Overall a very good choice for travelers.

“Great family hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

When traveling with kids, we normally look for a hotel with a great pool. The exception is Residence Inn Edina. The hotel is adjacent to the indoor, city-owned Edinborough Park (http://edinboroughpark.com/). The park includes a three-story climbing play area, an open space that was filled with funny two-wheeled carts, and a pool. There is a small entrance fee to access these amenities, but they are worth it. The hotel is close to the airport, Mall of America, Ikea, Southdale and Galleria malls, and lots of shopping and restaurants. In the winter months, this is a perfect place for a mini-vacation.

“Loved it... especially for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Okay, I got really lucky with priceline on this one... got an amazing rate!
I found the rooms to be very clean, and the staff quite friendly, again factoring in the price I paid for the room. I am a 3 star plus guy, and this place really fit the bill... throw in a great location for MOA & Ikea shoppers or fans of the Southdale Mall, include a free breakfast that is at least as good as IHOP or Denny's, and you have a great place to stay! ...also, right next door (attached to the hotel) is a pool with what looked to be at least 2 water slides!

Room Tip: As far as I can tell all rooms are actual suites, bring snacks or things needed to refridgerated.

“Cannot recommend-Disgusting/Dangerous.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

There was dried blood on our sheets, though the bed was made and all tucked in. We discovered when we tried to put our kids to bed. Complained which led to bed being changed very late at night. We received no consideration for this biohazard, other than one night discounted. Had we left to go elsewhere, we'd have had to pay twice--so we stayed.

Breakfast staff appeared to be prison inmates on work release? Or otherwise contracted from an institution of ill repute? Seriously--they really were. I suppose that is okay, but these folks had greasy hair icky attitudes almost certainly unclean hands.

Hair in shower / sink too, not ours. Who knows what else that was invisible to the eye. Simply disgusting and negligent.

Connection to the indoor park is great, but that is the only good thing we can say about this place.

We are not showing the correct date on the review so we can remain anon.
