“Always Clean and Always Comfortable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We have stayed here about 15 times (2009-2011) and each time have loved it. Our last stay was March 2011.

They are always accommodating and very nice! We only had one bad experience with an employee, who was actually let go after that, and we received a full refund for the bad experience. Otherwise, the staff and managers are fabulous! I've even been lost a few times in the cities and one very nice employee always gives us directions patiently over the phone :)

The room is updated and always clean, the beds and pillows are comfortable, and I appreciate their hospitality. The breakfast is pretty basic, but my husband enjoys the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. We still have yet to use their pool facilities, so I can't comment on that. And yes the elevator is a little creaky sounding... but you get used to it haha.

I highly recommened this place if you want to feel at home and comfortable for a great price! Don't forget to join the Marriott rewards program too. It's free and they have promotions often where I have gotten free nights.

“Room was fine, service was not.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

I stayed one night at this hotel on Sat, July 16, 2011 with my boyfriend.
Though the room itself was clean and attractive, I had a major letdown with the staff.
When we arrived at the hotel, the polite and friendly desk clerk informed us that my card was being repetitively declined. Confused, because I knew had the available funds, we had to speak with the night manager.
The manager was rude, dismissive, and just a shade shy of outright accusing. After arguing, being scolded in front of other travelers, and waiting for TWO AND A HALF HOURS while they helped customers in front of me, I brought up my bank transactions on the lobby's computer to show the manager that, yes, everything went through and whatever that was occurring was due to their system, not mine.
Another half hour later, we were finally given a key and told they would try to clear it up for us the next morning. The manager was not any more pleasant the next day, though she allowed us to check out and told us they would continue to figure it out.
After talking to corporate, we received an apology (though never from that manager), and were credited back for our stay due to the major inconvenience.
I would also like to note that another gentleman in front of me was denied several times, also. He left to stay somewhere else, but I wonder if we were not in the same predicament...
I agree with the thin wall reviews, though I didn't have trouble sleeping. The only place I noticed was in the elevator. The pool was rather small, but the hotel is small overall. We were not able to eat breakfast due to a family reunion having rented out the tiny lobby and breakfast room for the festivities.
Overall, as long as you can avoid the aforementioned manager, your stay will be satisfactory.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the elevators so that you aren't eavesdropped upon.

“Good location and polite staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

We spent last weekend (4 nights) here to attend a memorial service, therefore we were there for more pressing matters and just needed a convenient and comfortable place to lay our heads. This hotel met these needs.
Rooms recently updated and stylish with very nice linens. Bathrooms very well appointed and with well flowing Speakman shower heads. Thorough housekeeping.
The elevator needs replacement or at least updating as it is ever so slow and creaky. I refused to take it and opted for the stairs although they were in the middle of a big painting project. I did complain to the front desk that at one point the paint equipment was blocking access to the stairwell door, causing a hazard should there be a fire (being a 911 dispatcher I tend to see these things). They assured me "they will be leaving by 6pm" and I responded that regardless of when they were leaving, the hazard needed to be addressed right away. The next time I went on the stairs everything was set aside and the hazard had been removed. The paint crew were polite and got used to me (being probably the only one) taking the stairs.
They were also painting the indoor pool area and it was closed. We were told guests were invited to use the pool at the hotel next door but we didn't get the opportunity.
The front desk personnel were very polite and always with a friendly greeting. Warm cookies every weekday at 5pm - yum!

“Standard Fairfield Under Rennovation”

This hotel is being rennovated...stay on the 3rd floor. Otherwise it is unremarkable. There could be more attention paid to cleanliness...found other people's hair in the bathroom which is always yucky.

“Great location - pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

I always stay at this location when in town for business. It is located on Viking Drive between Prairie Center Drive and Flying Cloud Drive. It is right off the RTE 212 highway and the 494 highway. It is located with a group of other hotels including a Hyatt and a Courtyard by Marriott. Across the parking lot is a Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurant. The Eden Prairie Center Mall is a short 15 minute walk away.

The rooms are clean. There is a small indoor pool and a hot tub.

For breakfast, they have a free continental buffet with breads, fruit, cereals, and the like.

The free wi-fi connection was more than fast enough for my needs.

The exercise room is limited to just 3 pieces of equipment.

For the price, I am always satisfied with my stays here.
