“Not plush but very functional for business travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

Stayed here 4 days while on business in nearby Minnetonka. The room was $152 per night plus tax, about 50 less than most hotels in the area. This one included a full kitchen and the kitchen table doubled as a desk, with lamp, corded or wireless internet, and plugs at desktop. Small pull out couch and upholstered chair with TV, the bed was down at the other end by the bathroom. Patio door and window on the opposite wall made for lots of light. Grocery store nearby, so I was able to eat in the room some of the time. They also serve a hot breakfast every morning. Staff was very nice. A plus--during my off hours I drove around and saw some beautiful fall foilage and nice lakes with beautiful homes around them. The hotel interior had a rather spartan look--and the wallpaper and furniture need updating, but not bad. Very clean--and housekeeping even unloaded the dish washer that I had started before I left one day.

“Great value; now #1 choice for hotel chains on future trips...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

Quick check in, room was clean and spacious. Includes kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal.
Units are 8 plexes, not a huge building.
Convenient to where we were visiting.
This moves to the top of my list for hotel chains...

“This place is great for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2010

Called ahead to ask for King Size bed. When I arrived we were upgraded to the penthouse suite, (being middle of the winter occupency was down). The suite had a kitchen, two full bathrooms, living room with fireplace!!! All for 50 dollars from priceline!!
Desk staff Rachel was superior!!! kind, helpful, smiling and very friendly.
Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Close to Redstone restaurant with superior service, outstanding atmosphere all of which made up for the B+ food.

“Quit, clean and good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2010

I stayed in this hotel for 4 weeks and my stay was good enough with no problems as such.

Positive
-----------
1. Good Speed internet (complementary/free)
2. Good breakfast
3. Very soft spoken shuttle driver (Santos)
4. Quite neighborhood.
5. All rooms had a kitchenette which was really helpful for some guys who were vegetarians and wanted to cook themselves.

Negative
------------
1. Drinks should have been made available in evening snacks.
2. You can't walk till Eden Prairie City Center if its snowing outside (there are other hotels which are closer)

“Great package price, great breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2008

My son and his family wanted to attend the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN so we decided as a birthday gift to him we'd pay for everything and go along to help with the kids. I found a great rate of $139.00 per night, which included tickets to the festival, from a link off the Renaissance Festival's web site. I got a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom "penthouse" with a portable crib and a sleeper sofa and a full kitchen (with a dishwasher !) which was perfect for all of us--4 adults and 2 kids. The penthouse was spacious with king sized beds, a breakfast bar, fireplace, ceiling fan and balcony. One of the bedrooms was a loft style and had it's own bathroom. It was very nice to each have separate sleeping and bathroom quarters. The suite was in a complex of 3 or 4 other suites but you didn't hear your neighbors through the walls. You could hear a little noise in the stairway area but it wasn't too bad. It was a pain to haul your luggage and cooler up the stairs--there isn't an elevator. Plus we had extra gear with a 6 month old along. The breakfast was fantastic! Not like any other free breakfasts I've seen at other hotels. There were several hot selections including eggs, meat, potatoes, pancakes or french toast (depending on the day), oatmeal, breads, muffins, fruit, waffles with strawberries & whipped cream for toppings, etc, etc. It was great and hard to believe that it was included in the price of the room! The actual location of the hotel is kind of out of the way from Shakopee and the Renaissance Festival but the drive isn't too bad. It's probably 20 minutes or more to the Mall of America. For the price we got and the room size, breakfast, etc, you can afford to drive a little to get to what you want. I would definitely check out this Residence Inn for my next trip to the Minneapolis area!
