“Plenty of other places nearby. Choose one of them.”
We stayed here recently for a wedding. Given a choice, I would have stayed at any of the other places nearby and there are plenty of them.
Problems began even before we arrived at the hotel. Depending on which of the front desk staff you reach by telephone, you either need to phone weeks ahead or the morning of your arrival if you want an adjoining room. In addition, certain staff members can be rather sarcastic in their responses to simple queries over the telephone.
The carpet in our room was nasty. It felt wet, even though it wasn't.
The blankets and sheets on the bed weren't all appropriately sized for the king-sized bed we had. The blanket must have been from a queen sized bed because it didn't even reach to the sides of the bed. The sheet wasn't much bigger.
All the linens, with the exception of two towels, were threadbare and worn. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked.
One of the doors that bypasses the lobby doesn't lock, even though the signs on the door imply that it is locked at all hours.
The breakfast buffet was merely OK. I've eaten plenty of powdered eggs without complaint in the past, but these were by far the worst powdered eggs I've ever eaten. They not only had a distinctly awful texture I can only describe as "too smooth" but they had something of a chemical aftertaste. There is a shortage of fruit as the fruit bowls aren't restocked very regularly. Otherwise, the rest of the buffet seems to be edible. The dirty dishes referenced by one reviewer have been replaced by styrofoam and plastic. Unfortunately, this means more trash and the trash bins aren't emptied as quickly as they are filled.
There are mosaics in the hallway floor tiles that are cracked and broken, showing a lack of interest in continued maintenance of the property. The broken side door lock looks like it's held on with an entire tube of silicone caulk.
The electronic key system is an almost complete disaster. While we were waiting to check-in, someone else was getting a replacement key to their room as they were locked out. The woman working the front desk said, "Can you please bring the other keys back when you're done. We don't have many that work." My key must have been one of those that didn't work. I would routinely insert and reinsert the key ten or twenty times before the door would open. My sister, staying in an adjoining room, had the same problem. My wife's key worked a bit better; it opened the door one out of every five insertions.
They charged those attending the wedding a "discount" rate of $75/night. That's about $40 more than the room is worth.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

We have worked hard to address these concerns and are pleased to report we have installed a new electronic lock on the doorway. Our breakfast attendants have been food service certified by the state of Minnesota so that they are monitoring the quality of all breakfast items served continually. We have since purchased all new linens to improve the quality of our guests sleep experience.
