We've been staying at the Homewood Suites by the Mall of America for over 15 years now. It is literally right across the street from the MOA and a short walk. Everyone is treated well by all of the employees, including hands on managers. The price for us has been anywhere from $89 to $149, more recently $98/night. This includes a two room suite with king bed and full kitchenette in all rooms. They have hot breakfasts every morning including cereals, bacon or sausage, eggs, and every other breakfast food typical of most hotels. They also have a manager's special every weeknight. Considering the location, we consider this a terrific bargain. I guess our only complaint is that the hotel, although just having finished an update, could probably still use a bit more of a makeover. Just the same, it is clean, friendly and a great place to stay. We've stayed here more than 50 times over the years.

My husband and teenage daughter and I stayed here in a two bedroom suite for three nights on a little getaway weekend.

The good: Parking was free, and the location was good for the MOA. They had a shuttle to the mall. (Though it only ran once per hour which was a little inconvenient.) The rooms were spacious - my daughter was thrilled to have her own bedroom, and being able to see Bloomingdales from her window! It was great to have a refrigerator & microwave. And here is the most important thing to me in a hotel: The room was clean; the beds and bedding were very comfortable. The staff (except the shuttle driver) were all very friendly and helpful. The package of popcorn in the room was a nice treat at night. The pool was large and my daughter had fun in it. The breakfast had 2 hot dishes that changed each day, along with juices, yogurt, waffles, etc.

The not as good: There were a variety of small issues with the room - refrigerator bulb was out, light in the shower area flickered like in a disco, the bedside lamp was broken and a piece of it hanging over the side by wires. The tub drain would only stay in the "plugged" position and had to be removed to take a shower. None of things were a big deal, but it was a lot of little things for one room. The supplies in the kitchen were pretty sparse - one spoon, a few forks, and two knives - none matching - two odd pans. It was strange, because all the supplies were extremely old and in poor condition - like what you might pick up from the DAV. This is not what I would expect from a Hilton. We certainly wouldn't have been able to have even a take-out meal with what they gave. They have coffee in the lobby - which is great. But, oddly, no tea, cocoa, or even decaf - even at night. There was an odd smoke-ish smell in the 5th floor hall - almost like the odor of sparklers. It was there all three days.

Overall, the hotel was a really good value for a family seeking some space and not wanting to break the bank. It was clean and friendly. Under the right circumstance, I would stay there again, or recommend it to friends traveling with family.

Great location right across from the Mall of America! A very easy walk from the hotel to the Mall.

Very comfortable room and nice to have the extra space with the separate sitting area and kitchen. Our room faced the airport so the kids were entertained by watching the planes. We didn't notice much noise from the airport after 10:00 p.m., but heard the planes starting at 6:00 a.m.

Good breakfast with a lot of choices. Overall, a great place to stay!

This was a Great place to stay for our family of 6. We had separate rooms for gram and gramp, while my wife and 8 year old shared one double bed and I slept in the other, with our teenager sleeping on the pullout couch. We flew in and took local transportation to within walking distance (about 1 city block across a busy street....best to cross at intersection when with the family) of the hotel. We were within walking distance of the Mall of America (there is a shuttle van that goes every so often). We enjoyed the Mall's aquarium with lots of jellyfish, the climbing ropes/adventure center, as well as the variety of shops/food available. I ran laps around the Mall in the early am hours and we swam in the pool in the evenings. We also took local transportation to/from the Vikings football game and wish we had more time to explore!
