“expected a nice hotel”

old building - nice insite but not good enough for a sofitel , the flagship of the accor group
the service of doorman was terribile, he was looking from the entrance to see how a lady
arrived with 2 bags and than when inside the door offering his help. He actually did the
same with me.
The check-in was overfriendly but I saw some people were offered hot towel and tea ,
but not me?? should I asked for something other checking guest without asking??
so maybe some clients get better or different service than others??
room was big , old stilish but redecorate nice, with great bed (they had like a cover between
the matrass and linnen, nice) The badroom had a nice sardenia-granite counter but the
shower was in an old bad, with glass door, which when open leaks on the floor (slippery!)
the bar was good , good service and excellent wasabi nuts
There was no shuttle service to the malls of america or to the airport
they have a towncar at the price of a taxi.
I wouldnot stay in this hotel again, better go to crown plaza which is cheaper, less
5 starish-air and better local services

“Nice!”

I booked this 4+star hotel via Hotwire for a recent stay in Minneapolis. You can tell the building has been around for a while, but the interior has had a complete makeover. Our room had modern decor and flat screen TV. The bathroom was nice and bright with glass shower door and granite counter. I thought the bamboo plant was a nice touch. Overall, nice place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

“Warm Welcome”

I am in the customer service business and I was blown away by the attention of the staff to the guests. I was greeted by the front desk agent in French and was ask several questions to be sure my stay was going to be enjoyable. THEN I was given a small glass of warm apple cider and a plush warm hand towel. I was looking away and suddenly it was there. I was not even checked in yet and they had succeded to give me that WOW impression. The room was beautiful and the bed was heavenly. Very nice walk in glass door showers with the rainfall shower head directly above you. (with another hand held shower head option). Thank you for a wonderful experience and I would recommend to anyone staying in the Bloomington, MN area.

Room Tip: I think I was in a Luxury King room. Very large and great bathroom size.

“My husband and I find excuses and go out of our way to stay at this hotel!”

It's true! We live in north Dakota, and whenever we get the chance to stay at the Sofitel, we do! It's funny to us because anytime we have to stay at a hotel somewhere else, we always say after the front service desk, after seeing our room, after a nights sleep after a shower after we leave... It wasnt the Sofitel!! Haha from the beginning it is such a pleasant experience, they greet you with a very bubbly and polite bonjour, and walk your key around to your side of the front desk, you walk over a bridge and head to your clean white linen room! The beds are amazing, and white fluffy duvets, and not to forget they give you l'occitane shower and hair products that are especially made for SOFITEL and the four seasons! Love it! I now have my best friend hooked and my parents on staying at the Sofitel anytime in the MSP area. J'adore! Hope this helps make your very important to your rest decision in choosing a hotel!

“My new Minneapolis home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I used to live in the Twin Cities and have been staying at another hotel during my twice yearly trips. My usual place was full in November so I tried the Sofitel. I fell in love. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the staff helpful and friendly but not pushy, the bar is great, the location convenient. I also found the price very reasonable for the quality of room and service.
