I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. I am a Marriott rewards program gold member and when I had visited Minneapolis in the past, I stayed in this hotel when it was a Cambria Suites property instead of a Marriott. It is very close to the Mall and the Airport which is also very accessible to both Twin City downtowns. For my last visit, I was looking for the Cambria property I had enjoyed so much in the past and couldn't find it. Ultimately, I found that the property had changed ownership to Marriott and was now branded as a Springhill Suite location.
The rooms have not been changed very much at all from the former ownership. And this is great, because this hotel is much, much better than a standard Springhill. I tend to avoid Springhills in general because I find them to be lacking in overall quality but this property is an exception. The suites are all very nicely furnished and much larger than a standard Springhill. Also, the windows throughout the hotel are soundproofed so the location next to the airport and adjacent to a busy highway are non-factors and the rooms are very quiet. Multiple flat screen TVs are in any room I've ever stayed in which is great when travelling with kids so I can watch what I want while they watch whatever it is they watch when we're all in the room to unwind. Although some people complained in other posts about the optional indoor parking fee (free parking available outside), as a Florida resident who is not used to the Minnesota elements appreciated the option. I am not used to scraping ice off my windshield or shivering inside my car for 10 minutes until it warms up, so I gladly utilized the indoor parking option for a nominal fee.
The breakfast that was served is standard and acceptable. The bar and food onsite in the evenings is not at all typical for a Springhill and another nice option. Also, the small microwaves and fridge in each room are very convenient. For location in the Twin Cities (especially if you're using the airport and/or visiting the Mall), quality and size of the room and amenities for this hotel is great. And, I was thrilled it now counts towards my Marriott rewards points since I used to stay at this property out of preference in the past in lieu of a Marriott. This hotel is much nicer than the full service Marriott just down the street as I have stayed in both multiple times. Very highly recommended.
