Well done three star hotel. Located right on Lake Bemidji in North Central Minnesota, the Hampton is a fun get-away for a family, especially if you have young children. A small indoor water park with a kiddy pool and swings, smallish swimming pool, large sauna and exercise room and an indoor/outdoor hot tub for the big people. Very nice complimentary breakfast overlooking the lake. Lobby with fireplace, work space for travelers, and small seating areas scattered through the floors of the hotel. Easy access WFi, 42 inch LCD tv's with all the good channels. Friendly staff, clean rooms and common areas, very nice "northern themed" gift shop, and only a couple blocks away from Bemidji's new hockey rink/event center. To add to the convenience, one of the areas nicer restaurants, the Green Mill, is attached to the property. Book on-line directly with Hampton or one of the travel sites as you will have more options and better pricing. We paid $99 for a $150 rack rate room through Hampton's web site.

But honestly "I didn't know it could be this good." This Hampton Inn does absolutely everything perfectly. Seriously...perfectly. From cleanliness, to beauty, to the little touches....even the blasted elevator goes from the 1st floor to the 3rd in minus 3 seconds without a breath of noise or a bit of a bump. The beds were utter luxury. I'm all about fruit at breakfast and here was a cornucopia of bananas, apples, oranges, cantaloupe, honey dew and pineapple....in Minnesota?!?!

I feel like a kid again. I'm gushing. I'm picky....ask my husband...miserably picky. I never gush, but I am now.

This hotel had it all - clean and comfortable rooms, attentive and competent staff, beautiful setting, even a nice little shop and an attached restaurant which surprised us with its quality. Would not hesitate to return, highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here in a King room. I wish we had a lake view room, but we had an excellent stay! The room was clean. The hotel is very nice, breakfast was grea with excellent staff keeping everything in order. We also liked the locations, it was easy to get anywhere in Bemidji and very convenient to the Sanford Center for hockey. We'd definately stay here again.
