I bought a "groupon" like thing for Lodge and had a great experience. Comfortable room, nice buffet breakfast, water park. The young staff was pleasant. The walls are pretty thin and it was noisy. That would be my only complaint. All of it was priced well, clean and fun. I would definately go back!

I was traveling in northern MN for business and a coworked recommended we stay at The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes. The rate was only $89 per night which is cheaper than most chain hotels. The ambiance was warm and homey will a fire burning when you walk in the doors. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. They were much larger than a standard hotel room feeling more like a little cabin with a small living area and dining table/kitchen. I did have some initial problems with the heater, but it eventually started to work. The staff offered to send someone to my room, but I took the offer of extra blankets instead. The rooms must have been well insulated because I had no heat and the room was very comfortable. They had a nice bar area, but I didn't eat the diner or have breakfast. The pillows were a bit lumpy but there were three to choose from so I found one that help me make it through the night. I was a bit disappointed the water park was closed but it looked to be up and running in the next week. I think this would be a great place for families. It was also close to major interstates and great food!

What a fantastic family friendly establishment! My family was treated like we were part of the Lodge family! We will tell our relatives, friends and business contacts right away. Great water park and HUGE rooms. Definitely not the norm nowadays!!! Thank you Lodge Hotels!

First, in my opinion, the service was impeccable. Upon arriving much earlier than the 4:00 check-in (I think we got there around 12:30), they were able to get us in to our room very quickly. This is great as we (my wife and I) were there for an event that evening. This gave us time to check out the water park.

Upon entering the room, my wife turned on the heater to find out that it made a rattling noise. We notified the front desk. She stayed and I went down to check out the facilities for our event. Upon my return, the maintenance man was already there and had the heater dismantled. Of course, it hadn't made the noise for him. All three of us agreed that it was likely due to it being cold and would not likely happen again. My wife and I did not request to be moved.

The water park was amazing! The slides are super fast which caters to myself, but almost inevitably will put you under water at the end which does not cater to my wife. A nice relaxing "river ride" loop was fun with water falls and splashes along the way. We love kids, so we didn't mind that the water park was crawling with them and they playfully interacted with us.

Event staff were awesome at helping assist us with more chairs as well as being present when needed. It was an amazing event and we needed some good rest.

Unfortunately, twice in the middle of the night, the heater acted up and jolted us awake. While the noise only lasted for 30-60 seconds (I would guess), we didn't wake up enough to complain.

Breakfast was decent. Well prepared and numerous hot and cold options. My wife and I being on a restricted diet limited what we could eat, so it makes it cult to critique.

I made mention to the management of the heater acting up again. When I did so, they jumped at the opportunity to "make it right". We settled on the fact that we would call before we came up next.

All in all it was a great stay. Any facilities are going to have issues. We know that. I trust it was a fluke. I cannot remember having the speed of action taken that I had seen from The Lodge. Will I stay again? Without a doubt, no question about it.
