We have stayed here twice....clean and nice staff but if you don't enjoy going up and down the stairs, don't stay here...no elevators! The pool was nice and indoors is good when dealing with Michigan weather. We had breakfast two days there and it was OK. The rooms could use some updating but they are cheap. The grounds aren't too nice cracked cement with weeds and overgrown shrubs but we paid less than $60 a night so other no elevator it was OK.

First things first - you can't beat this place for the price. We paid around $62 each night as we brought a ton of kids in an area hockey tournament and were pleased. Needless to say, there aren't a lot of choices in Woodhaven - but it worked out well. The rooms were plenty big, the pool was huge and great, well heated as we sat and watched the snow fly and the temps tumble, the staff was courteous and we were overall pleased.

Just a couple of negatives. The place could use some updating and should offer something other than their restaurant breakfast in the morning. A nice free continental spread would make them more competitive.

As for the bar and restaurant inside - it's quite the party spot for the locals, so make sure you don't get a room too close. The restaurant needs to be closed down. The food was horrid, old cheese on the pizza, a salad that made one of our folks sick and a corned beef reuben that was neither warm or cooked and placed on some pretty soggy white bread. Yuck.

Bottom line - good cheap stay if you're stuck in Woodhaven area, but avoid the food.
