We stayed here for two nights and found that it was a good value. We had a room with two queen beds and was ample for the little time we were there, though I wish the bathroom was a bit larger. If you sleep lightly it is best to request a room that doesn't face the interstate which is quite close to the front. The staff was helpful though the breakfast room needed more attention during the rush breakfast period. The pool (indoor only) was too small and there was no hot tub. The free internet is easy to access but a bit slow. Overall the hotel coud have used updating but we would stay there again. It is convenient to the Detroit Zoo and Royal Oak.

The exterior and lobby were attractive enough, but our room (202) was a disaster. There was no fridge or microwave, and the phones and TV didn't work. The cheerful maintenance man replaced them by cannibalizing other rooms. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired. The bathtub was stained and dirty; the faucet was loose and misaligned. The bathroom ceiling fan didn't work. The inside of the bathroom door was badly scratched and discoloured. There was no blanket on one bed; there were hairs under the sofabed cushions. Outside our door, the corridor ceiling had a huge bulge in it, as if a toilet or water tank had been leaking for months. When we protested these conditions, we were offered a $20 deduction on our next stay -- as if we would ever stay there again! Finally the clerk took $10 off our $82.50 bill. On the plus side, the beds were reasonably comfortable and the hot and cold breakfast was adequate. At least there were no bedbugs!

We woke up to bed bugs - confirmed in one of the two beds in the room. My girlfriend was bit and there was dried blood on the sheets. We are extremely grossed out and taking all precautions with our stuff. Hotel comped our room and offered two free nights at the same hotel - you couldn't pay us to go back.

Stayed here 3 nights for the Final Four. While not a 5-star hotel, I was very pleased with it. The room was large, clean and well-appointed. Breakfast had everything we needed. It is in an excellent location (close to highways) for commuting into Detroit or visiting one of the malls north off the 75. I would stay here again if visiting Detroit. It was better than expected.
